Charlie Higson's fourth Young Bond novel is "Hurricane Gold".

As the sun blazes over the Caribbean island of Lagrimas Negras, its bloodthirsty ruler is watching and waiting. Criminals come here to hide, with blood on their hands and escape on their minds.

On the mainland, in the quiet town of Tres Hermanas, ex-flying ace Jack Stone leaves his son and daughter in the company of James Bond. But a gang of thieves lie in ambush — they want Stone’s precious safe, and will kill for its contents.

"Hurricane Gold" will be published as a hardcover in the UK on September 6, 2007.

This looks interesting, although I haven't actually started the young Bond books, I plan to get them all from the library when I go on Holiday, along with Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and You Only live twice.

I'm not totally convinced by the all gold cover, obvious reason why it is though, but I look forward to this next book.

It's fun for the hardcover, but I'm hoping the paperback will be more in line with the other paperbacks with croc art on the cover, etc.

I quite agree - I like the look of the Gold book and all - but a little part of me hopes that it's just a promotional copy for Charlie to have his photograph taken with.

It's not a promotional copy. That indeed is the hardcover. The press release describes it in detail. Even the pages will be gilt-edged in gold.
