Ranking the films

So many of us have ranked the Bond films in order of best to worst, which is shown on our profiles.

Many of us change our order from time to time. Including me, and I change my list quite frequently.

For me, ranking the Bond films is an enourmous challenge. I have just been driving myself mad, trying to decide which is worse out of TB and DAD. (That's right, I don't like Thunderball, go mad if you must :p)

Overall, I have a really hard time deciding over certain Bond films.

My question to you is, do you find it hard to rank the Bond films? And how often does your mind change?

My taste have been pretty consistant. But over the years I find I prefer the serious to the comic. So for me its the FRWL, Dr. No, and CR'06 type films that get my love and attention.

Where I waffle is on which Bond I prefer. I was once committed to SC, but as more actors have taken on the mantle, he doesn't look as wonderous as he used to. DC has knocked TD down a peg, and GL has over time risen considerably.

I am still reeling from what I think is the miracle of CR'06, it works so well for me on so many levels that right now it is by far my favorite Bond.

So against all logic for the first time in many many years I am eagerly awaiting Bond 22! Not dreading the release of a disaster that makes my favorite literary hero a joke!

The first 8 are easy for me and the last two as well, it's when you get to the mediocre films (for a Bond flick) that it become difficult.

The problem for me is that I don't dislike any of the films. I generally know which will be high in my list and which will be low but actually putting them order is so hard.

My top films generlly stay the same, as do my bottom ranked ones but the middle ones may change sometimes. I could probably change my list every few hours.

What if, for instance, I watch TSWLM and suddenly decide I prefer it to DN, do I switch them round. No, I tend to leave my list alone as it is a fair reflection of my rankings even if they do change on occasion
1- On Her Majesty's Secret Service 2- Casino Royale 3- Licence To Kill 4- Goldeneye 5- From Russia With Love

I recently saw DN and FRWL at the cinemas. DN is among my favourite Bond films, while FRWL is second on my list. Watching FRWL, I realised that although I love FRWL, it can not compare IMO to GF; my all-time favourite Bond film. I used to think that FRWL was almost level with GF; now I consider GF to be heads and shoulders above all other Bond films. I bring this up because while my list might change, it is extraordinarily unlucky that GF will ever be displaced at top spot.

At the moment I'm actually rewatching all the Bond films. I will then alter my list accordingly, however at the moment, there doesn't appear to be any changes to make. ;) (CR is not in my list at the moment, however I expect it to come in at number 14.)

BTW, this will surprise nobody, but I think the list feature is among Sico's best creations. :D {[]

That's exactly what I'm doing too. I've made a few changes to my list whilst doing that, although the list still remains similar.

Just this minute finished re-watching FYEO. A truly excellent movie, which remains at number 4 on my list. Always been one of my favourites, and I don't think that any of the remaining Bond films that I have yet to re-watch will come above it.

Only 4 more to re-watch now - FRWL, GF, OHMSS, and DAF!

All four films are IMO fantastic in some way or another. GF is IMO the greatest Bond film of all time, FRWL is my second-favourite Bond films, OHMSS is IMO a flawed masterpiece while DAF features a magnificent performance from Connery. :D Enjoy. {[]

Yep, I'm looking forward to it :D

I think I might save GF until last, would be a cool way to finish off
