Sunspel Grey T-Shirt Review

Just received my Sunspel Casino Royale t-shirt the other day. This is the t-shirt that Bond wears quite a few times throughout the movie, especially seen on the boat in Venice. The fabric is very nice and is a relativelly thin, clean cotton. It feels good on and the fabric drapes nicely. The cut of the shirt is interesting. My head almost didn't fit through the hole and when it did I heard fabric stretching. I do not have a Charlie Brown head so those with larger heads are in for it. because of the size of the neck hole it fits a bit tight around my neck (16) but with a few minutes of wear lossened up. I do like the cut of the arm holes as they come mid-bicep and fit snugly against the arm. Nice! And the length of the shirt is a plus, falling right around the waist line and not continuing much farther, giving it a modern look. Finally the back of the shirt has some interesting lines and I think falls short a bit here. I would have liked a little more room in the upper back area but I think with time and wear this will give...

So now the big question....is this grey t-shirt worth $70.00? Of course the answers will be different depending on the collector. As someone who likes to be a completist I will enjoy displaying the shirt with the occasional wear (perhaps) but if I was looking to buy one of these because I wanted to wear what Bond wore I might think of alternatives.

So now the big question....is this unremarkable grey t-shirt worth $70.00? Certainly I own more comfortable t-shirts, with better cuts...

OK DZ...you can't get away with this one....

The tgt of squeals of stretching fabric had me in hysterics...:))

And a little more room in the back?...now you sound like my wife when we try to get one of her erstwhile tipsy girlfriends in the back of my car when I pick her up from a girls night out...{:)

And finally, surely you know the secret of the great British export...

fool johnny foreigner into thinking he's getting class, sophistication and breeding when he buys something with the Queens' kite-mark...

when actually, he's getting a shrinkwrapped vest made in china or india for one thousandth of the cost....

Only a yank would complain the neck-hole was too small....however your observation has been duly noted by our quality control dept and the next release of our CR grey vest will include invisible zip which will surender itself to even the most portly of craniums....{[]

    suits you sir....:#

Just received this info from Dominic at Sunspel....VERY IMPORTANT INFO and explains quite a bit! Seems there are two grey shirts used!

David, hi, just fyi, the Miami airport scene shows our t-shirts. The Venice boat scene shows our grey marl t-shirt. We provided grey marl and white t-shirts throughout the film and that styling is now available on www.sunspel.com . Both these t-shirt styles make various appearances throughout the film – but these were two key scenes.

I am not sure whether this is your site, but this is the info that should be there..

Your quote will be up on our site shortly.

    Yours

    Dominic

Not sure how you infer there were two styles of grey T shirt? Dominic mentions white and grey marl, sure, but the Miami shirt certainly wasn't white.

Am I missing something in what you have quoted?

Sorry, I think I misundertood him...in a previous email he stated that the Miami shirt and the Venice shirt were two different shirts...I assumed he was saying there were two different grey shirts but upon reading the emails again I think he THINKS the Miami shirt was white (which we know it was not)...

Yeah I think there was only one grey t-shirt and one white v-kneck. I think he had a blue t-shirt on in the Hotel Splendide when he talks to Mathis on the Balcony $$$$$

Thought the balcony T was dark - charcoal - grey, Simon, but it could be blue.

And Sunspel have a T in blue on their website...

If I get you guys correctly, this T-shirt is not worth purchasing for any other reason than to put on display. I wanted to buy one to wear it. Now, because of what was posted here, I do not think I will go through with this purchase. So can you guys confirm that you do NOT recommend the purchase of this t-shirt ?
