I don't think there is a thread on this topic yet, but I did see a story on the front page. Here is another link to his obit.

Anyhow, he only did one 007 film, what's his legacy? Is he to blame for the ridiculousness of Octopussy or was he responsible for an action packed adventure that "threw in everything but the kitchen sink" I guess the bigger question is where does George fit into Octopussy's flaws & successes?

    Over five years ago, I posted a topic I titled Octopussy Source?, in which I speculated that Fraser might have borrowed the plot of one of his own Flashman novels for Octopussy. I don't know if I was right or wrong, but it's still fun to speculate.
