i read in the paper a couple of weeks ago that leona lewis is now the favourite to sing the new boond theme. apparently it should have been amy whinehouse but because of her ****head stoner image they scrapped her. its probly just a rumor. lets hope its as good as 'you know my name' anyway

    Oh please no!

I don't like these amateur singers being seen EVERYWHERE once they win one of these daft song audition shows and then regarding themselves as "the best singers of the year" or whatever.

Yes, there are some (very few) who actually CAN sing, but I really for Bond at least, would like to see a professional known singer. ;)

Much as I detest the "Opportunity Knocks" style talent contests, you can't actually call the winner an amateur. She has an album and it has sold very well.

The manner of how she got her fame is questionable, that she is a professional performer now is undeniable.

Nevertheless, let me cast everyone's mind back to For Your Eyes Only. Young Sheena Easton actually won a talent competition and had a minor hit or two, following it up with the Bond theme. There is a precedent.

i would rather av a rock song for the theme song like Casino Royale. Cornell provided one of the best bond songs for years imo :007) -{ :007)

I was listening to Virgin Radio the other day when they had a phone interview with the lead singer from Muse. They got onto the subject of Quantum of Solace and Muse seemed interested.

The more I listen to their stuff and the more I think about it, the more I think it would be a brilliant idea.
What counts is what the heroine provokes, or rather what she represents. She is the one, or rather the love or fear she inspires in the hero , or else the concern he feels for her, who makes him act the way he does.

Q of S definitely needs a song with balls, and it's interesting that Michael Wilson seems to have come round to the idea of going with artists that might deliver something that fits the series rather than simply go with big names regardless of suitability. Looks like he's learnt his lesson after the Sheryl Crow and Madonna disasters.
