Bond driving a VOLVO?

Did anyone catch the article from MI6 stating that Bond will be in a Volvo? Wonder what model? However, he will be in his DBS for most of the movie.

Look towards the end of this link.

Volvo is, for the time being at least, still part of the Ford Motor Company (though Ford have confirmed a review of it's position after the disposal of Jaguar/Land Rover).

It will more than likely be the latest model, which is the S60/V70.

As has been pointed out, it could be a hire car, stolen car, police car...might not even be driven by him. We do know that his main steed will be the DBS.

And that might even be looking a bit different from its last appearance:

As long as Bond doesn't need it 'winterised' again!

    ?:)
Are you referring to Bond's Aston in TLD? I think if you review the film, Bond's modified Aston never made it to Tangier.

I read somewhere that Bond arrives at the Opera in a Volvo---but that the DBS is, indeed, the car of #22.

Yep; but watch it again- at the point in the film where Bond is all set to go to sunny Tangier to assassinate Pushkin, Q decides that the Aston needs winterising! It's only after that that Bond decides to go via chilly Bratislavia ;)
    Good old, slightly psychic, Q!

Yeah; the Volvo could even be a taxi, I suppose. Or perhaps he's in the boot! :)
We've already seen him filming what looks like an entrance as a passenger in a Range Rover in London. However it works out, it all fits with that old Ford deal at the moment.

As for the TLD situation - Q never says that he's giving the car to Bond, merely that they're winterising a car that we had already seen Bond driving (at the Bladen safehouse.) It could be that Q never intended for Bond to use it going to Morocco. Bond did say he was taking it out for a spin, maybe Q didnt even realise he was taking it all the way to Soviet land?

And some Volvo are quite attractive. Not the old ones of the 80's mind you, but the more recent ones are.

Maybe the car's in the film to allow Bond (or the girl) to make a classic smutty double-entendre. "Oh, James, I love it when you drive my Volvo," etc. Hell, it'd be right up (or down) there with the "cunning linguist" and "Christmas only comes once a year" lines. . .

Yeah, I read this news and said to myself, "Good Lord I hope it's not true!"
