Dealing with the flashback

They could do a recap of CR over the opening credits of Bond 22, assuming there's the usual pts. Do it subtle, like the live action over the credits of Goldfinger.

The problem is that it could be confusing if the PTS, which is set after CR, comes before the recap. IMO the PTS should be the last scene of CR with its immediate aftermath.

Should be interesting in any event with this film starting about one hour after Casino Royale.

My prediction (worth exactly what you're paying to read it ;% ):

Because they'll want QOS to stand alone as a film---in addition to being a direct follow-up to CR---they'll open up (after the gunbarrel) on Mr. White's lakeside villa...replay the final minute or so of CR, and simply pick up the action there. Of course, if QOS literally picks up "twenty minutes" or "an hour" after CR, I guess they'll start with White's interrogation...and then a chase/action sequence ensues B-)

Everything else from CR will be dealt with (via exposition) as QOS unfolds, just as the backstory is handled in any film.

I would actually like to seem some short sequence showing Bond 'infiltrating' the property, showing him getting a bead on Mr. White and shooting, then launch into an action sequence from there. This way it would recap CR but be it's very own sequence.

I am of the Loffelholtz school of thought on this one. The CR ending was the literal "climax" of the film, with DC introducing himself as "Bond, James Bond..." I don't think that is the natural start of QOS if it is to be a "stand alone" epic.

I think they will start with the interrogaton of Mr. White at another location, probably including a med-tech wrapping up White's shot-up knee.

That makes quite a lot of sense to me.

I guess I am not of the "Loeffelholz School" on this one!

Unless of course there are two Loeffelholz's!

    Well...now there are three of us at AJB :o :o :o :D

I actually see merit to both of these views...and I think we're all probably fairly close to what Eon are going to come up with...should be interesting to see :007)

Am I the only one who doesn't want the beginning of QoS to be the last minute of CR? I think there are better ways of recapping the story for folks who didn't see CR than cutting and pasting the final scene from CR.

It sounds to me that the producers agree with me, as I take "an hour after the end of CR" to mean not showing the final minute of CR.

You're not alone. I think opening up on the interrogation of Mr. White would work just fine, and I doubt people who haven't seen CR would be confused. A brief line of dialogue would be enough to establish he's an important man in an organization MI6 is trying to infiltrate.

Craig said QOS opens 20 minutes after the end of CR, Wilson said one hour. Safe to assume, QOS will start out entirely on its own. JMHO.

QOS will be its own standalone story, to be sure. I believe there will be a sort of spill-over from the previous film, but any specific notions of how this will happen are obviously speculation. One thing we can probably count on is that, in the new regime, Eon will satisfy, confound and somehow exceed many of our expectations.

That is exciting to me B-)
