NEVER SAY NEVER DVD - THE MISSING SCENE

Can someone explain why the scene where Bond buys Domino a drink in the casino is missing from the DVD of NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN. It's really a huge narrative gaffe. How did that occur?

If you're referring to the scene where Domino orders a 'soft' double bloody Mary with lots of Worcesteshire sauce, that scene is there and it should be there on any official DVD release no matter which Region, on my R2 PAL it starts at about 1hr 5mins running time, R1 will be a bit later because of the 3% speed difference in framerate, yet non of the DVDs has this scene omitted. The only cuts that were made to NSNA was the horse landing in the water after the jump from the tower in Palmyra.

The first pressing of the DVD accidentally left out 5 minutes of footage from the movie. The second (and further) pressings corrected the error. The bad DVDs were recalled and for a time, the faulty copies were traded in for new, corrected copies by the customer service of MGM. However, I'm not sure ths service is still available since it was years ago this happened.

I've still got one of the 'bad' discs :# It also omits the charmingly dated video arcade, and Bond's first introduction to Largo.

I've been holding out for a special edition of this DVD---not only to get what is essentially a missing chapter, but to see if any extras---at all---can be had for this, Connery's Bond swan song.

The reason why the horse scene is missing because the rspca complained about it i remember reading

But the horse falling is on US versions isn't it? It's also on Never Say McClory Again, a fan-made version with mostly John Barry music on it, google it.

Wouldn't hold out hope for a special edition, I think EON producers might have a say in it now and they hate the movie.

Amazon U.K. currently stock it for £3.98. I do think it's worth that but anything higher would be pushing their luck.;)
