Going to watch DVDs prior to QOS?

I would usually watch all of the movies prior to the release of the new one -- I remember watching them all last year with my girlfriend, which she did not appreciate.

Anyway, I've just checked my Bond calendar and realised I've left it too long to watch one a week, as there's only about 15/16 weeks until QOS is released. So I'm forced to squash the showtimes a bit closer together !

Just wondered if anybody else does this, I'm sure it can't be just me, I'm only a mild Bond fanatic in comparision with some :p

I've lost GE out of my collection too ! I think its melted from over-use. And I never bought CR :o, I'll have to get on Amazon right away.

I don't know. It's a bit like eating lots of chinese meals before going out for a special chinese meal. Or a Pot Noodle, in the case of QoS! :p

No idea what a pot noodle is, but I suspect I must like them a great deal :v

I watched all 20 previous Bonds in order before CR's release...then I saw CR 4 times in the cinema and another 6 or 7 times since. I've been giving the older Bond films a rest this year, but I'm sure I'll pull out a few key ones and give them a look---along with another viewing of CR in the weeks/days heading up to this year's Bond Day, which for me falls on 007th November... :007)

    n.
A mass of narrow, ribbonlike strips of dried dough, usually made of flour, eggs, and water in a small plastic tub, the food of students.

I set out to watch all of them in order before CR but only made it to OP. Since then I've jumped out of order and watched CR a number of times as well as GE and MR (which was better than I remembered). I am planning on picking up at AVTAK and watching the rest in order before QOS. I guess I better get started.

I've been re-watching all the films at irregular intervals and in a totally random order since I got the 21-film box set in April. I only have MR and CR left.

Welcome to the board, Mikhail! {[]

CR will be a bit jarring alongside MR, or vice versa. :s

I will be watching several Bond films prior to the release of QOS. I can not say how many I will see, but they will definitely include CR. (I could follow on NP's comment by noting how one should eat one's vegetables before eating dessert, however I'm not entirely sure that QOS counts as dessert. :# :)) )

I too am doing a 'slow' Bond marathon, but with my wife this time around. She has only seen a few of them before this and now she will get a full picture of the Bond movies. I have a thread about it and am taking bets on how she will do with all 21 official Bond films before QOS comes out. So far we've made it through DN and FRWL, on to GF next!

Here's the link for the other thread. Come by and post your thoughts about how far you think she can make it and I will keep you posted on her progress. :D

Yes, I picture it: Sir Miles with nothing on than his GP trunks on watching CR. In one hand a can of beer the other carries some potatoe chips and/or a remote.

I haven't watched a Bond film for a very long time. I think it's time really. I have From Russia With Love kicking about somewhere. So I am thinking of balancing gritty realism with something like Moonraker.

Oh, but I've been in training for years, I've passed the six-pack abs now and am going for the Watney's party 7 look - I guess you'll have to ask Asp9mm what that is :))

I've just bought a new TV to hook the old blu-ray up too - not quite in the 60 inch league of Asp9mm, but not too far off ! Will probably run CR through it next weekend :D

Can we get back on topic instead of eating Pot Noodles and so on!

I plan to watch CR every day for the week before QOS is released. Met NP this week to go to the Bond Exhibition, and we discussed the possibility of NOT watching the 2nd trailer because it will give too much away. Mmmmmm, a great idea - but I don't think I ill be able to stand not watching it though!

I will be posting loads of spoliers on here for our American cousins of course as they don't get QOS until 7 November!!

    Ha ha ha LOL :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :))

I'll probably deliberately NOT watch Bond prior to Nov. 7, since the depravation will increase the anticipation of seeing the new film!

:p Blame your pal NP for bringing them up in a thread about Bond DVDs! :D Pretty sad---nay, tragic!---that he has to resort to your fine country's beloved and delicious Pot Noodles as a means of slagging CR yet again...He's a desperate man---he'll likely go after pot pies next!!!

What oh what is the world coming to??? Thank God Chef Boyardee isn't alive to see this... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Actually Loeff, our pot pies, or should I say Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney pies (which are literally in a tin that you pop in the oven) are actaully pretty bl**dy good, so don't even encourage NP to go there ;)

...and that is very funny! (I lived in Canada, so I know all about Chef boyardee.) :D
