Is new organization a modern day SPECTRE?

I see from the QoS trailer there is a secret organization involved, since all old things with Bond are new again with the reboot, could this organization be the new SPECTRE? Where perhaps the chief villian from this film, is not the head of the organization, and they return for several films? perhaps a new Blofeld?? I am just speculating, and hoping this is true, does anyone have any info to confirm or deny? thx

I think the jury's out - i've certainly heard conflicting reports, some suggesting that 'Quantum' will continue beyond Greene, and others that QoS puts a lid on the Casino Royale continuation. Guess we'll see

I like to think Quantum goes beyond Dominic Greene in Bolivia, if they're supposed to be a new SPECTRE and they're big enough for two or more movies, with Quantum's henchmen packing space aged sh-t.

Craig's Bond should continue to go after Quantum in #23---even if he doesn't realize Quantum still exists until Act 3 of that picture :v

They've shown us White. We're going to see Green. They still have to give us Scarlet, Plum, Peacock, Mustard, Peach, Gray, Brunette & Rose. :v

Though I like the name SPECTRE better, Quantum as a regular enemy would be a welcome change from the Russians, maniacal billionaires, renegade double agents, etc. The idea of a criminal organization full of creepy but effective counterparts to the "legitimate" spies of the world opens up great possibilities for the series returning to its kinky fantasy roots without losing sight of topical concepts for the crowd that thrives on "realism" in their spy melodramas.

I hope Quantum doesn't end here and something was missing from the Bond franchise if all of the villains were relatively limited and flash in the pan (with most being quite boring).

Quantum should be world spanning and decades old, with some strategically grand master plan that Mr. Greene is just part of. Maybe they could be like Cold Winter's Grey Wings, except they've got a plan to save world civilization from enviromental destruction, Global Warming and Peak Oil (only they're being very ruthless and insidious about, willing to destroy industrialized nations and slay millions of innocent people to save billions more).
