I'm glad the cricket scene was cut after all - pretty bloated, ruins the suspense.

The hospital scene is pretty dire - awfully tacky, especially following the brilliant acting of the torture scene.
But that little moment when Bond grabs the scissors after talking to Mathis - thats great! Really should have stayed.

The cricket scene is great, but doesn't work at all as part of the film- it's like a beginning to another film, not part of the same scene.
The hospital bit is really quite bad, yes- perhaps they never finished editing it or something. And the Gettler part really would be slowing the film down to an almost irritating pace- I think it's too long as it is. Craig's very good here, though.

So yeah, all good scenes and great to see, but definitely a wise choice to lose them all.

Thanks for posting these IEU2D! {[]

I’m glad they cut the cricket scene, for the sake of pacing. The PTS is much more exciting without it IMO.

It’s a shame they cut the scene at the train station; I like the quirky banter between Bond and Vesper here.

The purpose of the hospital scene must have been to heighten our suspicion of Mathis. Considering the following scene in the garden does the same thing, it was a good cut.

Finally, by cutting out the Gettler scene, we lose some much needed background behind the character. I wish this scene had not hit the cutting room floor.

Despite all these cuts, however, I still feel that CR is too long.

Haven't seen the deleted scenes yet (I'll have the new DVD in a week, so I won't wait for my s****y dial-up!)...but I'm not surprised that a setup scene for Gettler was left on the floor; it felt that way to me when I saw it. Too bad.

All were good scenes, but I agree that the PTS is better without the cricket match. The bathroom fight in the finished film--with its grainy footage and taken away from its context--is nasty, brutal, and brilliant. It's a shame they cut the scene of a bedridden Bond lurching for the scissors, though.

I wouldnt of minded any of them in the film, But I think it works fine without them. This gives more info in on some major film details, So without them it makes it more myterious to who people are.

Thanks for posting that, its the first time I have seen them. TBH I liked all the deleted scenes especially the cricket scene!

I liked the cricket scene too, but it kind of spoils the tension between Bond and Dryden when he says: “Do you like cricket?”

It was a good cut ultimately, I feel.

The Gettler scene should have stayed, though. It shows Bond still has sharp senses and hasn't turned into a total shmuck after getting all loved up with Vesper.

Whatever happened to the footage of Bond and Vesper getting frisky in the ocean? ;%

I really wanted to see the cut scene where Bond throws the laptop into the Venice canal in a fit of rage and you see it sinking to the bottom.

Are these scenes available on the new release of CR DVD?

I definitely thought that the grab for the scissors would have stayed, I thought it echoed the cinematography of grab of the knife off the table though so not sure if that's why it went.

I think a lot of people wanted to see some skinny dipping!!

They're on the new Bluray edition ... so I guess they must be on the regular DVD as well.

can some one post these online again please?
I don't mean to sound cheap, but I have already got Casino Royale on DVD and Blu-ray, so don't want to spent more money just for these!
