    Close but no Martini ... -{
    The correct answer does relate to Casino Royale but from the 1954 TV play - some time after which Barry Nelson said of his Bond girl "Linda Christian was, of course, a famous beauty and I doubt any James Bond since has had such a beautiful woman in his arms."

    In which instance has the gap between the publication of the Fleming novel, and the film with the same title, been the longest ?

    And in which instance the gap the shortest ?

    (I.E., the gap between the Moonraker novel and film was (1955-1979) 24 years)

    The first answer should be quite obvious, the second not so much.

    Not to mention Helena Marksbury.

    Shortest is Casino Royale published in 1953, film version in 1954.
    QoS was published in FYEO-1960, film version in 2008-48 years.
