PS: I have read around these parts (and seen compelling images as well) that Bond's shoes in St Petersburg when wearing the Tank chase suit are Church's Diplomats. I really do like this suit... B-)

Anyways, I'm not getting a really strong sense of enthusiasm from the people on this board about this idea, so I think I will just slowly work on the blog for the time being. If it turns into something bigger down the line, so be it - but if people can't be arsed to suggest or vote on a domain name I doubt a user-wiki site will garner significantly more contributions.
Either way, the info will be there one way or another for people to peruse.

When I see something I like, I realy do get into the salient details...
Use the flash feature - it lets you zoom in really close and look at the fine details.
Btw I've been working with Magnoli on recreating the Bilbao suit... we focused a lot on the painstaking details and I think it should come out pretty well. Once completed, the basic 'model' of the suit should be adaptable to the other Brioni suits worn in the other Brosnan flicks, as they have pretty much the same cut and silhoutte, with only minor differences in things such as pockets, ticket pockets and pant pleats (and of course different fabrics and colors choices).

Ah, but it is not my favourite suit, my friend. My favourite is actually Craig's famous Villa 3 piece from CR (narrowly edging out Lazenby's navy blue 'London resignation scene' suit, narrowly edging out Dalton's navy blue pinstripe from TLD) ...but I digress. )
I can't help it. Whenever I see a suit that I like, I prefer to get all the fine details down pat. This why I think sites like this and the proposed archive site are/would be great. Help get 'the look' just right.
And urhash, good to see that the Bilbao suit is in the works. I'm starting to warm to that particular look...

After considering different domains, I do thing the better choice may include the word "wardrobe" instead of "clothing" because items like watches, tie, shoes, and the newest add-ons suggested aren't really considered clothing. That being said, I think we do want to put some kind of parameters, like sticking only to things he wears. Food, alcohol, etc are good subjects to cover, but this might not be the site to do it. One of the things that I don't want this site to turn into is a jblifestyle clone, branching from clothes to guns to travel etc. Nothing against it (huge fan), we just don't need two identical sites!
Just made some various touch-ups to the site, as I just got the Making of TND book which has a lot of helpful details.
It was interesting to read about how Lindy Hemming had a slightly different "brief" for the wardrobe from the director, who wanted something a bit more contemporary and less formal. This led Hemming to ditch things like the pocket handkerchief, although she still wanted things like the ticket pockets.

To be honest, I always found the pocket square handkerchiefs (or at least the way Brosnan wore them in GoldenEye) to be too distracting, especially with the grey suits in London and St. Petersburg. It always looked like the hanky was going to pop out or spring out of his breast pocket!
Example: Tank chase. Much as I like this suit, you wouldn't really want to be running around with a gun while worrying about your hanky staying in your pocket. Connery and Craig (in QoS) show how a proper pocket square handkerchief is worn.
PS: Can anyone tell me what the pattern on Brosnan's suit at MI6 in GE is? It's the one in the Situation Room/M's office. Is it a Glen Urqhart or Prince of Wales check? Is there a difference?

I actually prefer the "tucked in" look that Brosnan adopted with the pocket hanky, although I agree it was more appropriate when he was wearing a three-piece and moving about offices rather than in action scenes.
The Prince of Wales (POW) check, Glen check, Glen plaid and Glen Urquhart check are often interchangeable names for the same thing - depends on who you speak to. However, a POW check often consists of a coloured check (usually a window pane check, most commonly in colours such as light blue, or red) superimposed on to a Glen Urquhart check.
I've always thought of the suit Brosnan wore in the GE MI6 scene as a plain Glen Urquhart i.e. without the coloured over check. I really liked that suit and had one made in a similar fabric, albeit not to Brioni costs and standard!
I saw a Brioni suit the other day in a regular retail shop - I was rather surprised that it didn't have working cuff buttons! I assumed it was standard of suits you'd find at the level of Brioni's and Armani's.
Indeed? Perhaps the wroking buttons are a feature reserved for Brioni's "bespoke" product. I always thought that, as an in-universe thing, Bond's suits would always have working cuff buttons simply as a matter of utility. Never know when he might need to literally roll up his sleeves for something sticky, or perhaps even to perform first-aid/impromptu medical care on someone (hence the name, doctor's cuffs B-)).
Perhaps this suit is like the Tank chase suit, in that it had a vest made for it in pre-production but was left out of the final on-screen ensemble (maybe at the wishes of Brosnan or Martin Campbell?)

Indeed, the bespoke Brioni will have working cuffs unless you request not to have them. The RTW stuff usually doesn't have it since working cuffs make it difficult to adjust the sleeve length. Some of the RTW Brioni suits won't have sleeve buttons at all, having them kept in a little cloth pouch to make sleeve alterations even easier -- the alteration tailor doesn't have to remove the stitching for the faux-buttonholes.
I had read Hemming wanted a hand-tailored look to the suits (ticket pockets, pick stitching, working cuff buttons, etc), but to be honest I thought most of these things were standard when you pay $3000+ for a suit.
As for the Tank suit... I can't say for certain, although decisions seem to be made quickly on the set which can have implications on the wardrobe (e.g. originally the 'Bilbao suit' was supposed to be worn throughout the MI6 scenes and the boat chase, until it was decided 'some time had passed'). I can't imagine Hemming ever wanted Brosnan to wear a three piece suit in EVERY single scene (tux, MI6, meeting Q, AND the tank chase?), so I would say it was probably just for publicity purposes.
Speaking of the boat chase, I maintain my theory that the reason the geometric pattern on that tie was so loud was that it was meant to spend most of its time splashed with river water, so she wanted something that would maintain some semblance of color when wet. I'd love for Hemming to one day come here and prove us wrong on all our crazy theories and speculation... :007)
Btw I wouldn't consider myself an expert! I merely spend way too much time trying to figure out info about the stuff worn during Brosnan's tenure... If only the energy the community currently has towards Craig wardrobe/collecting were also focused on Brosnan era stuff, I would be a happy man indeed, though I understand times are changing.

It should be from Sulka. I haven't read anyone even mention this tie until now, so I don't think there is much interest in it. I know exactly which one you are referring to, though I think it might be one of Hemming's more dated choices, in retrospect.
Perhaps I have finally found the right forum: I try in vain for months information on the coat worn by Brosnan in his four films, but I can not find.
I state that the only information I have is that which refers to the model Chesterfield camel color worn in "Tomorrow never die."

I'm not sure if I am understanding the gentleman correctly, but upon looking back at some of his similar requests on the topic of Brosnan-era overcoats, I'd say he was asking if anyone has any information on the ovecoats Brosnan wears GoldenEye, TWINE and DAD (who made them, material, type of cut, etc.).

And while we're on the MI6 check suit, one of the (apparently) screen used ones was sold at auction in December 2007.
