I hope this is true, but I doubt it. If this happens, I hope they use the "brainwash and attack on M" - storyline from Thunderball. They should just have another 00-agent being brainwashed by Quantum and saved by Bond, and killing M after his release. I have written this before and I think this is the way to do it after what happened in North Korea in DAD.

Perhaps th 00-agent should be held prisoner and brainwashed in Afghanistan? 8-)

Sure; why not? Doesn't really matter where it happens, IMO. As long as it's not central Europe...they've been there a lot in the last couple of films.

Witch hunting 101, with extra credit given for post length. Reason has left the building and is doing nightly shows at the Tropicana with Elvis (the singer not the henchman).

Regardless of rumors, safe bet EON is going about its business and will likely have a lot to say about Bond 23 after MGM gets settled. Would not surprise me to see a multi-headed publicity release soon after the studio deal is announced.

EDIT: looks like most of it's been deleted or locked. Very appropriate.

The reason I asked was the rumours that the next Bond will have scenes set in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is a place as good as any to be be captured and brainwashed. :D

No place for a squid in Poland, so central Europe is out I'm sure. :D

Interesting. All previous indications were that EON was going to leave Quantum out of Bond 23. If this is true it does look like Quantum is the new SPECTRE which is fine by me. Rachel Weisz is a fine actress with an exotic look (beautiful but not the typical model/actress look) and can do just about any type of accent the role might call for. With a female master villain, they will need to write and cast some really good secondary male villains, henchmen, etc. Of course if Quantum is back, we would certainly need an appearence by the mysterious Mr. White, the most interesting villain IMO since the Connery days. The best part about this news (if it is indeed true) is that despite MGM's problems, EON continues to move along in preperation for filming Bond 23. Whatever happens to MGM, EON knows that there will be a production/distribution partner for them. Casting a quality/name actress along with hiring a well respected director just makes Bond more tantilizing to any suitors who come their way.

I really hope that 23 leaves Quantum out of the picture. They could return at a later date, but I'd really like 23 to be a completley new challenge, no personal vendetta element, but a good tough 'mission' for the now fully finished Bond article (no more newbie)

Id rather Quantum was in 23 and Bond finally smashes the orgainisation and M is killed off so that 24 can be acompletely new challange.

In CR the organization is only hinted at, in QoS it is introduced and in Bond 23 they SMASH IT?
A bit like destroying SPECTRE in Goldfinger? ?:) Some below average ideas has been posted on AJB, and yours is one of them ... :#

I am hoping that Quantum is back and that indeed Rachel Weisz will play the lead villain, especially if it is true that Dame Dench is out after this film. Wouldn't it be great to have a woman pitted against a woman with Bond in between. One thing that has been done well with DC's time is that the bond between M and 007 seems very strong and based on substance, rather than on quips (a la Brosnan era).

As for all the sleuthing, blogs shutting down and rumor milling...I am sure something of it is true, otherwise it wouldn't be on the internet...right? :v

Don't know if Weisz will be in 23, but she seems to be in Craig's heart (according to various articles/pics) these days! And, well, they do make a cute couple. :x

I read on another forum that Craig had dumped His longterm girlfriend for weisz and that she would be in the next Bond ,so it seems as I predicted Bond 23 is going to be a Lovies Love in. :))

Yeah, but what if Craig and Weisz fall out in due course but the film is still on? Not good.

I also think as they are now a couple, everyone will be expecting some some sparks to fly from the screen in their scenes,if not then all the rumors will start about their relationship,I would never Dream of working with my Wife.We argue enough as it is. :))

It's not always the case that when leading man and lady are getting it on, there's any onscreen chemistry.

I don't no Napoleon, I wouldn't fret, let Eon worry . They've had long enough and its time to step up and even if something of the rumour is correct we'll all be happy. Theres something almost genuine sounding of that rumour and as long as Camille doesn't return there'll definetly be chemistry.
