'La Vie en Rose?'

Casino Royale - Chapter 14 - p99. Bond and Vesper enjoy a meal at the Roi Galant nightclub following the game of Baccarat with Le Chiffre, in the corner a trio are playing 'La Vie en Rose'.....I stumbled across a recording of this by Trio Caiowas ('Piano's Happy Hour' available on Amazon download) and to my ears it's piano/guitar/drums as described in the novel. It really sets the mood when listened to whilst reading this intimate scene.

    Personally I prefer Grace Jones' disco version. It on her Island Life compilation or the Portfolio album from 1977. A very smooth piece of dance music.

    A great song. I actually like the Louie Armstrong version, and Cindy Lauper's ain't bad either.
