7289.... When I had my SD Studios GG I had a small rectangular brass sticker engraved with the "S" like it showed on the poster but I have come to find out that NONE of the 3 guns made for the film had any engraving on the case. Interesting !? I have decided to leave mine "studio pure".
I love the artwork of the Gun with the lighter in use
as if its being spun by Scaramanga, like in an old
gunslinger style .... :007) Love it !!! ;%
I think that was Advertisment / concept art from Colibri, I may be wrong.
Does anyone remember the little book ''rough guide to james bond''
in that, there was a photo of a 1st Gen SD Gun with the handle
engraved with an 'S'...... wonder if that got re-plated after engraving.
Its a Black and white photo sadly.
I think it was only the Colibri Prototype Gun for the film, which was never
used, had an 'S' on the handle, it also had an 'S' on the cuff link trigger.
Colibri also made 2 / 3 more refined guns, which still featured the Colibri
Lighter and a brass Block 'with grid cut into it' to match the lighter, like the
prototype, but they were more refined and had nicer finishes and were
done better by the looks of photos ...
Colibri Made these extra guns after / during the films release for promotional
purposes I guess, they all had 'S' Engraved on the handles and Cuff Link triggers
and featured Real Waterman Pens, stuck in as the barrels,
I guess Colibri made their Golden Guns with the Lighter in the back so they could
show it working in stores maybe, as their product was the main feature of the gun
in their eyes..... possibly
FYI on a side note...... NOT A PLUG Guys!!!! )
My own Golden Gun is in getting Gold Plated at the moment,
should have it back soon, its had all of its engraving before hand, looking forward to
seeing it again at least now, I wont have to keep polishing the brass to keep it looking
like gold ) ) its getting done in 18 carat gold.
Honestly, I do not see a lot of real interest in this "S" logo - or we can have a list going here - who really want one? Please post. Also what "S" are we going to based on? Its not screen seen. Only on poster artwork and the real "Colibri" Golden Gun. It is not just a simple 'S" and with limited interest, and not screen accurate, I don't think it is something to pursue.
You can Buy Stick on Gold / black lettering from cards
and birthday gift shops etc, you buy them in a pack with
letters A - Z in all different styles, on a sheet,
some of them would look real nice for the persons who
want an S on there guns handle, if it was in the gold leaf
finish it would look pretty nice and not as noticable as the
black lettering

Couldn't you have a sticker made with a gold "S" on it? Once placed over the panel on the case it would have the same look as an engraved letter.
