I read with utter disgust this so-called news article in a Melbourne-based newspaper yesterday:

Dubai's the setting for the latest novel in the James Bond series
RESIDENTS of Dubai were anxiously awaiting the plot details of the latest James Bond book after it was announced yesterday the novel would be set in the exotic city.
American thriller writer Jeffery Deaver, who was commissioned to write the latest installment of the blockbuster series, said he based "Carte Blanche" in Dubai because it was a melting pot of old and new cultures.
The 28th book in the series, which was given the green light by the estate of Bond's original author Ian Fleming, will hit British shelves in May.
But while details of the plot remain a closely-guarded secret, there were already informal talks with the Dubai royal family about making a film based on the book.
Deaver, whose 26 other books so far sold more than 20 million copies, paid tribute to Fleming.
"I learnt much technique from Mr Fleming's work - compactness, attention to detail, heroic though flawed characters, fast-paced concrete imagery and straighforward prose," Deaver said.
Deaver said he picked Dubai because it had for him the same exotic appeal that the Caribbean or Hong Kong had for Fleming - a mix of ancient and modern cultures, dramatic architecture and a good location for intrigues. "Had Ian Fleming lived now, he would have picked Dubai," he said.
Can anyone see the errors? Such as:
1. Where has this news about a Carte Blanche movie come from?
2. There has been more than 26 books in the series.
To me it looks like they've just plucked news/gossip out of thin air.
I'm actually really appauled that this made it into the paper, where are the editors? Isn't it there job to ensure only facts are used in their articles? And the fact they've used an image of Daniel Craig just shows how confused they are on the whole topic.
