For Creepy Services

Am I the only one that found the end of For Special Services to be extremely creepy?

I mean, Leiter "gifts" Bond his daughter...

While I enjoyed reading the book, i found this to be disturbing.

    Thank you! I thought I was the only one. The whole thing was just so weird and quasi-incestuous that it sort of turned me off the book, which I otherwise enjoyed.

    The funny thing is that in a later Gardner Novel he Tells how Bond felt arkward over the relationship and how he felt Embaressed meeting Leiter again, He must of forgotten how in For Special Services he "Gifted" his Daughter :s
