So, Youknowthename, Because they are "Rough" Men Craig must swear all the time, that sounds rather an Elitist attitude. In that Well educated rich guys don't swear But lowely Working class guys Don't know any better and People like yourself don't expect much of us worker types. :D We all swear every other word, Drink till we are falling Down and of course go home to Beat our wives. :p

Damn people really hate this guy huh. He is lucky to have landed the role as anyone would be. But I couldn't care less about interviews or what he's like in real life.

He should be one of my favorites considering Casino Royale is my favorite movie largely due to him. Unfortunately, his interviews made me wonder if he is being rude or shy or difficult and whether he means to or not. Those doubts make him hard to like, so I just have to ignore Craig and remember Bond instead. Craig has yet to do a good, let alone nice, interview in all the years I have followed his press.

Actually, Connery once expressed that the occasional slap never hurt any woman ;)
But yes, most rough men swear a lot. The other stuff is up to you.

I realise Now Craig was just talking "Street" he's not rude or vulgar at all. I must Humbly apologize, Just another example ( If needed ) of how much dedication and research Craig puts in to a roll. Daniel Craig’s Ex Hits Him With The Ultimate Revenge!

Posted by Patti the Precocious Guru

Daniel Craig’s ex-girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell has found the ultimate way to get revenge. Ladies, forget breaking car windows or burning his clothes, this is way more profitable and just as therapeutic.

When Daniel Craig dumped his girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell and began dating Rachel Weisz, Satsuki was apparently so angry that he broke things off with her, that she found an interesting way to get revenge.

She didn’t go so crazy as to do something like boil his pet bunny rabbit, but she DID rack up about $1 million in charges on HIS credit cards, which for some reason, she had permission to use.

    A source explains what happened:

“One morning, Daniel left for the set, as usual. Only that night, he didn’t come home. Satsuki was frantically calling, texting and emailing him, but he was probably with Rachel and not answering. [Satsuki] hit back, the only way she knew how.”

Is that REALLY the only way she knew how to get back at him?? How about a strongly-worded email?? Yes, Daniel may have acted a little, dare we say, douchetastic in this situation, but charging a million bucks to his credit card is pretty hardcore!

He’s actually probably pretty happy he got out of that relationship. We would be too!

    Source: PerezHilton

I'm surprised no one has posted this before. :))

Craig is simply being Craig. And being Craig is what got him the Bond part. Both he and Connery are rough men who have an "I don't care what you think" attitude, which they also bring to the screen. Imo they are the coolest and manliest Bonds too. Sir Roger for instance is more of a gentleman, which reflects in 'his' Bond.

Apart from the 'rough man' part I agree with this... I think Craig is just being Craig. He really doesn't give a sh*t about what people think, and it sounds like he swears a lot anyway... not just when the journalists are around. Apparently there was a 'swear' box on the set of The Golden Compass - obviously because of Dekota... only what, 10 (?) at the time. But even that didn't deter Mr Craig, as he said he owed rather a large sum of money :))

Swearing has its place...but it's obvious Craig uses it a lot. I guess that's just the guy he is. Doesn't make him less educated... or really say anything about his background... prob more of a bad habit.

However, I can't help but think it detracts from what he is trying to say - shame really. :#

But I sure he can control it, Would he swear in a church getting Married or a Burial. would he do it at a childrens party. If not then I think he should get some help for Turrets Syndrome :)) But I'm not going to Criticise him too much as I'm now a Fan :D
Perhaps I should just look on it as "Colourful language" and more signs of Craig's "Street" lingo.

Wasn't quite sure where to put this... however, it just goes to show, that DC can both charm, and NOT swear for an interview.

In fact, he comes across as really nice... and funny - and can take the p1ss out of himself.

Sara Cox from Radio 1, interviews DC about Cowboys & Aliens

Good to see. And DC is looking good.. :x
Being on love, obviously agrees with him.. ;)

Why the heck isn't he like this in other interviews? He seems to enjoy it a bit in this one, a first from all the interviews I've seen. Maybe she loosened him up with her flirty smile...

Well anyways, that was a fun interview to watch and Craig didn't look bored and beat to hell by age.

He's an actor: he's supposed to be able to speak eloquently AND to behave during interviews. Those who do not have what is called a "bad reputation". And he sure has it, seen as even during the Cowboys & Aliens press round before the disastrous results the movie had (so when everyone still thought it was all great) he was labelled as "a pain in the ass" by most of my colleagues who dealt with him. Actually that was taken into account as one of the reasons why the movie failed, but I digress. :v

He can't "just be Craig" in interviews. He can't afford that luxury because he is playing James Bond. When you take over the James Bond role you take over a franchise and with it comes responsibility to behave accordingly. He doesn't even know where that responsibility begins. You want the honor, the money and the fame, you must also deal with the burden that comes with it. And honor the role.

Sean Connery wasn't NEARLY as bad as he is. Not to mention he created the role and there's absolutely no comparison acting-wise and in terms of how big a star Connery was compared to what Craig is. If Craig can't keep his swearing under control and he can't behave like a civilized, classy human being during interviews, he better shut up. He's famous for being rude to interviewers anyway and not giving good quotes when interviewed. Which as far as I'm concerned is yet another reason why he should never have been cast as Bond (not one of the most important ones, but still a reason). I can't stand the all-around swearing. It is rude and there's no way to make it look as "unimportant" or "just fine". It's not, for any person. And especially not for an actor who represents an entire franchise. He's a public figure so part of his duty is to speak in a decent manner. Now swearing is "just who he is" thus it's fine? :s This "everything is fine and allowed" attitude is what made society get to the incredibly vulgar and rude ways it has now. At least those who are in a position to be listened to by the public must learn to behave and speak accordingly. It doesn't take much, if he doesn't do it it's because he doesn't want to do it, which, I'm sorry, is the prerogative of a rude, uneducated person.

I agree. There's too many people out there in the public eye who have caught on to this swearing's cool thing. The likes of Gordon Ramsey for instance who swears because it's "his thing". These people are actually a bit thick IMO and don't have the vocabulary to express themselves intelligently.

Hey, Alessandra, nice to have you back. -{ {[]

However, I somewhat disagree with you... I just wanted to post this link because I think he is being Craig - He's funny, relaxed, and dare I say it, even rather charming.

Of course, this is not to say that his Esquire Interview wasn't without fault - however, I do think he uses this 'brash demeanour' as a shield. I'm not trying to make excuses.... really... there is a time and place for all his brashness, but like with any interview - you never know where the interviewee is on the list... and if it's 32nd on the list, and they've all asked the same question - then no doubt you will have your patience stretched.

    Is this an excuse? Probably not, however, it's an explanation - and you never know what it's really like until you walk a mile in their shoes. $$$$$ aside, we are still human. And not always at are best at that. -{

So we have two lovely ladies in Lexi and Allessandra. One is a Craig lover as Bond, one is not. It is always great to hear the smarter sexes take on Bond LOL. While no one would call me a prude, and I have been known to use the F bomb as an adjective in ALL sorts of ways, I would say I have found his constant swearing to be a bit much myself. It sometimes almost seems like he is saying "F@$% You, why did it take you SO long to make me a star. I have been slugging it out in the pits for 20 years AND now you care about me " The man really is a talented actor in my opinion, but it seems instead of being grateful for all the fame Bond has brought him, he is more like a petulant child going " You didn't care about me then, so F@#$ you now " Still can't wait for 23, I just recently watched " Road to perdition " the other day and I am certain 23 will be a much better movie than QOS. I didn't see any " jerky, jerky, jerky" quick cuts scenes in RTP so I think we are safe from a QOS repeat in that regard. Also based on the action/ violence of RTP I think we will get some really gritty, gritty action in this one. The names " You, F@ck You " DC :)) :D :007) B-)

Always take interviews with a pinch of salt, journalists can be awkward buggers. For all we know (though the topic is off limits) he prob got quizzed on his love life at the start of the interview.

Imagine he knows Sara Cox quite well as these DJs are a celebrity themselves unlike Journos, so makes sense he is being himself

He seems to play it according to who is interviewing him and why. The British press -- in particular compared to the American press -- can be quite savage, and I like the fact that Craig doesn't simply treat every interview like it's the same old routine. That is boring.

I watched the Sara Cox interview and he comes off as much more the understated gentleman, which I suspect is closer to his "home" personality. Sara Cox is not a strong interviewer but she seems quite sweet in that girl-next-door sort of way and he plays off that. I wonder if Craig is a;readu working out for the Bond role -- he certainly seems more muscular in the interview than he does in the clips of Cowboys versus Aliens.

Yep, Sarah Cox is a popular radio dj...and Craig has been interviewed by her before. She is known for her flirty, cheeky style...not for everyone, and she got slated when she took over the very coveted breakfast time slot on radio 1 (a national radio station) 10 or so years ago.

I believe Craig slimmed down for his role in C&A, as he thought that traditional cowboys wouldn't be all buffed and muscles...although apparently his next director (for The girl with the dragon tattoo) fed him up to bulk him up...no complaints from me...love a man who likes his food... ;)

He looked genuinely relaxed in the interview too so I think she has a good effect on him. He does look bigger so whatever he's doing, he should be in good shape for the next Bond . . . a little older, a little less edgy, perhaps, which will give him even more of a Connery vibe.

I think it really depends on the interviewer.... not that that should be an excuse... but there is another cheeky chat show host here in the UK - Jonathan Ross (I'm not sure where you are from Mr Beech, but taking a look at your time stamps, I assume the US? - Or Canada ;%) Anyway, I just thought I would post this link to an interview DC did before Casino Royale - perhaps you didn't see it?.... Let's not forget that Wossie is a working class ish lad, and no doubt a lot of these interviewers are of middle class or posh bent, which can bring about a very different vibe to someone from Craig's background.

That said, I remember a pre-Bond interview Ross did with Craig where he went on about him being craggy, and couldn't quite see it, and Craig was holding onto his smile somewhat.

Hadn't seen that one, but I have seen a different Ross interview with Craig. I am indeed in the US, but I take a look at some things out of the UK media like X Factor and some interviews. I went to England once when I was 14 and felt like keeping a little bit in touch ever since.

Actors use salty language. The Bonds have too: Connery, Laz, Brosnan, Craig all talk that talk (Dalton too, maybe? Moore was ever too much the saint to swear ;) ). Whatevs (or rather carry on haters, lol).
