The Beeb usually release their dramatisations as Audio Books. Would be nice to see the ones done so far released as I missed them. Wasn't Toby Stephens playing 007?

BBC Radio 4 broadcast an adaptation of Dr. No. Toby Stephens played James Bond, while Dr. No was played by David Suchet. Following the success of Dr. No, a second Bond story was adapted and on 3 April 2010, BBC Radio 4 broadcast Goldfinger with Toby Stephens again playing Bond. Sir Ian McKellen was Goldfinger and Rosamund Pike played Pussy Galore.

Interesting. We just saw Stephens in Inspector Lewis and I remember commenting to the wife that he'd make a good Bond. He was very Bond like, but we all know 'Gustav' cannot be Bond. ;)

Funnily enough much as I enjoy these radio plays of Bond stories, I just wish
Stephen's voice was more baritone. Or am I getting very picky ? :))

I loved this radio play. Thought it was incredibly well done. I especially liked how they jumped the first 5 chapters of the book and just got on with the story (not sarcasm). Gustav did a decent job, but I agree about the baritone, Thunderpussy. Overall, 8/10.

On tonights "Front Row" 7:15, there is a short segement on
Why the Vatican approves of James Bond and Skyfall.
It will be on the Radio I-Player for the next week.

Wasn't alot about Bond really, just that the vatican usually speaks out
about Bond films, But suddenly the Vatican newspaper gives Skyfall a good review.

I posted this in THE ROGER MOORE THREAD last November. No problem with you posting it again as I am sure it will be new to some, and it is well worth a listen. I am wondering though why you posted it here. What's Howard Stern's connection with the BBC? :D
