Some of my thoughts on the Press conference Today.
The Title "Skyfall" isn't a favourite could be an Operational name " Killing of M perhaps" But I think it sounds Un-Fleming.
The Cast, Is Great One of the Best line ups for a Bond in years -{
The Director, I'd say even on a bad day Mendes would produce a competent movie, so hopefully He'll be on form. -{
2nd unit, Alexander Witt, Good pedigree and can hold a camera steady, so a thumbs up there. -{
Stuart Baird, Editor. More on the lines of CR would be nice.
Funny the filming in China, as I remember a rumor from months ago about a big stunt involving "The Great Wall" :v
They could film the train work there as well, China isn't known for strong Healty and safety rules. )
And lastly in my new found Policy of Appeasement,
It's got Daniel Craig, "Shut-Up !!!!" he's so Dreamy :x
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I largely agree with Thunderpussy: great cast, great crew and some good locations. I like that Michael Wilson reassured us that they haven't scrimped on the budget or the action sequences. I like the mystery surrounding certain character names...could it be Q, could it be Blofeld...I guess we'll really have to wait a bit longer for more juicy bits.
My only disappointment is the title. It's a very generic title, completely indistinguishable from myriad action/thrillers/etc and rather un-Fleming. I am disappointed that having gone back to two Fleming titles, they didn't continue the trend. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Risico which could be used in any context the story required (as was done with QoS)...and of course the Hildebrand Rarity and even Property of a Lady (the latter being especially fitting for a plot centres on M's past).
Oh well...never judge a book by its cover - unless Madonna's on the cover in which case avoid diligently - I'm sure SkyFall will be a goodie regardless.
Agree that Skyfall doesn't hit the target for me, can't agree about Risico (what's that?) or Hildebrand Rarity (blugh) yeah Property of a Lady is fine.
Otherwise it's wait and see, not too bothered about it but I smell another TWINE - competent, credible, M-centric with Molly Warmflash characters in there but something missing.

Thanks for the news about the Scotland Castle. Sometimes I miss the fresh James Bond news, because I'm doing other things. Glad We have such attentive ajb007 members here.
May I day dream for a minute why they are changing for that Scotland Castle to Pinewood?
They could have saved the Dark Shadows Collinwood castle and used that. In my daydream, I wonder if they are planning something special for the castle scenes. Maybe some special people would prefer to be at Pinewood instead of traveling to Scotland.
On second thought, the owners of that Scotland castle did reveal what they thought was the ending of SKYFALL. So that might partly have something to do with it.
Yes, very disappointing indeed. Was quite gutted when I saw that on Scotland Today last night.
So what now for this "strong Scottish dimension" that was stated at the press conference - and is it just they've canned Lochgilphead, but filming elsewhere in Scotland? Hopefully the latter, from a purely selfish point of view!!

The owner seems to be under the impression that they are changing venues in Scotland. Hope they do indeed still film there.

I'll certainly be taking a trip over, it's only an hour from here including ferry time.
Hopefully filming in Shanghai will be in late April, as I'll be there then, too!

From what's being reported it looks like you won't need that ferry after all, M5.....
Filming at Scottish Castle cancelled.

But to be fair, there seemed to be an affirmative consensus in the recent "is it preferred to reply to old topics" topic )
