Will this be Craig's "The World Is Not Enough" ?

Much like Goldeneye, Casino Royale was a great way to start things off for the new Bond actor.

And Quantum Of Solace was Craig's "Tomorrow Never Dies" so to speak. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. Its just...there.

There's a lot of hype for Skyfall and Craig wants it to be his best Bond film. (Which says alot considering the high quality of his first 007 movie). IMO "The World Is Not Enough" was Brosnan's best Bond movie. Yes, even better than Goldeneye. And coincidentally enough, much like in TWINE, the plot of Skyfall involves MI6 being attacked and M will be the focus of the movie!

From a pure enjoyment stant point I like Goldeneye and TND better the TWINE, but I know I am in the minority. (I also liked QoS)
Casino Royle is one of the best Bond movies, it will be hard to "better"

It's refreshing to see some love for TWINE for a change! It's my favorite Brosnan Bond by far. And while I liked QoS very much, it would be nice if Skyfall did prove to be Craig's TWINE.

This has been discussed for ages. . .there's a theory that a Bond actor's third film is the one where he completely nails the character, and, in some ways, does his best work. Connery had Goldfinger, Moore The Spy Who Loved Me, and Brosnan TWINE (Lazenby and Dalton, alas, are unable to compete). I hope this is true for Craig, and that he avoids the "curse" of the fourth film--delivering a bloated, over-the-top monster!

Jeesh, I hope not! TWINE was dreadful and Brosnan was - again - all over the place with his acting. Nobody's best effort and best forgotten (hopefully Skyfall is a bit more than all that...?).

My principal hope for SF is that Mendes slows down the pace a bit and allows for some genuine narrative 'beats' to occur. As a Bond fan, I like to savor the moment---after QoS, hopefully we can be slightly less frenetic! My biggest complaint about TWINE was that some of the stunt set-pieces felt 'shoehorned' in. The paragliders would be an example of that, IMO.

Thrilled that principal photography is under way :007)

I think this will def be a more thinkers movie rather then hell for leather action (still with action of course).

Could be quite a dark Bond film - the pics so far give this impression for some bizarre reason even though its only a few scenes, not sure why just some weird instinct!!!!

TWINE is good but no way better than GE or TND i think that is more or less factual!

Great observation, even though I thought GoldenEye was the best Bond film starring Brosnan despite TWINE being his best performance as the character. Hopefully, considering how badly QOS did amongst most fans' opinions, they'll want to redeem themselves again and make Craig's third film achieve the same results as Connery's and Moore's.

I agree, DM. Goldeneye was overall a better Brosnan Bond movie, but he gave a better performance in TWINE.

I have faith that Sam Mendes knows what he is doing, and with John Logan as a co screen writer this film will be much better than QOS was.

Craig has stated that he and Mendes dicussed their favorite Bond movies - the main one's being FRWL and TSWLM -if this film has the feeling of a modern day FRWL with some iconic TSWLM style moments (in terms of style and plot not the humor) I reckon it should be an accomplished addition to the Bond cannon. Ifor one am looking forward to this movie with relish -now its Craig's third movie -its his chance to really show his interpretation of 007 in a manner that will please most fans.

i went back and saw Goldeneye again a couple of weeks ago. It was a decent movie, but things got better from there in my opinion. (it could be that Goldeneye was the first Bond i saw, and only liked the character more and more from there.)

Every Bond movie is great simply because its Bond, SF will surely rock too!

I found twine incredibly dull, and give's dad a run for its money for worst bond movie. Not a fan of brosnan though goldeneye was a well made movie.

TND is infinitely better than QoS in my opinion, but hopefully the new one will be good of course! Although with a name like "Skyfall" it doesn't bode well! Still, at least it's slightly less bizarre than the last one!!!

I like how nearly everybody is too lazy to type Skyfall even though it's only a seven letter **** ing word. By the way has anybody seen this two part blip tv review of The World Is Not Enough?

I certainly hope that Skyfall is more of a cohesive movie than Pierce Brosnan's third Bond outing.

I thought fan polls had QOS at about 70% approval rate? There's a vocal minority that hates it, but I don't count my opinion of TWINE as anything but my opinion. ;)

If anything Skyfall looks to be building on the strong character work QOS injected into the series (CR was a tease in that regard, dropping hints only that Forster had to embelish, very happy he did). Also looks like Mendes is staying on top of the action, hopefully we don't get TWINEish shoehorn style action, yech.

O rly?! My bad, I thought all the novels had been adapted a long time ago! Doesn't change my opinion of it as a title though!

Something else I haven't particularly liked about the DC films is the continuity, but maybe that's just because I haven't made any particular effort to understand it. Does anybody share my dislike of this aspect?

I quite liked the similar-but-different continuity from CR to QOS. The tonal shift was welcome as well - expecting SF to be more QOS than CR, Mendes strikes me as closer to Forster than Campbell in how he directs.

Skyfall should become Craig's Die Another Day because of the 50th anniversary of the film franchise. Die Another Day marked the 40th anniversary in 2002. I was around 16-17 when DAD came out. Time flies. DAD was the first Bond movie released in the post-9/11 world. The terror attacks were still bringing everyone down at that time.

    Can't Skyfall just be Skyfall?

Yes!! Just let Skyfall be Skyfall - not "Craig's The World is Not Enough" or Goldfinger, or whatever.

Tomorrow Never Dies was much better than TWINE.
