Since we have Q on board we might get some gadgets, right!

So, what gadgets do are you hoping for in skyfall. Realistic gadgets, or fantasy ones, like in Moore age

I think the gadgets will slowly return but in a smallway. Small realistic stuff, I doubt we'll see a return to the big gadgetry
of the past, Mabey simply more amd more stuff crammed into his phone. Apps for seeing in the dark or a Heat camera,
Maps of all major Buildings with road maps of all countries etc. A tele-mic for listening to far off conversations, or a
Lip reading app, X-ray for seeing into safes or locked desks, that kind of thing.

Yes, but come on, we all would like a nice big machine gun coming out of a car, or something like that.

I would say it can get as unrealistic as The Dark Knight gadgets and I would still be fine, but I don't want him carrying them all around like a superhero, so maybe stick to making the car well-outfitted?

Gadgets are a part of the Bondiverse, so of course I'd like to see a gadget or two in Skyfall. That said, I'd like to see gadgets that make sense and have an integral part to play in the film. I often think of the attache case from From Russia with Love as the ideal Bond toy: it has a lot of tricks, it's a logical thing to bring into the "field," and Bond puts it to use several times in the movie. I hope to see something like this in whatever the new Q dreams up!

I was getting worried, Having a couple of Members agreeing with me, I thought I must be doing
something wrong. ) I'm not used to that.
As for small ones working better than Big ones, I wouldn't know. ................. I've never had that Problem. )

Yeh, I'm for a super cool smart phone too.... just need to sort out the crap battery life issue though... )

The problem with gadgets is this.....
1) Gadgets are only gadgets if they are something new and exciting - most smartphone apps will easily do what Bond needs
2) The existence of some gadgets is so contrived that they exist only to be utilised at the right moment in a film eg Moore's magnetic watch, or are too far removed from reality to be a real believable gadget eg Brozzer's laser watch

If we are having gadgets they need to be tools, not disguised gimmicks.

How about a gadget like in M-I:4 during the Kremlin infiltration?(I don't want to spoil it for others) Then Q will appear in a scene after the mission(maybe the Pre-title sequence), perhaps in M's office, giving Bond another more minor gadget. That way you get a memorable gadget and PTS and a more subtle introduction to Q instead of having some gradiose entrance for the character. Bond can even say something like, "The worked like a charm." Or you can go the other way and have Bond give negative feedback in a glib way since they have a love-hate relationship. Maybe Q will implement the changes Bond recommends and the gadget will have a cameo appearance in the next film.

Maybe not gadgets will be the correct word in the future Bonds film, I believe Q would more likely give Bonds weapons and supplies of different kinds for different missions. Like explosives, pick locks, different kind of guns etc. But maybe we will see some unrealistic gadgets , like a bullet proof umbrella used in the new Johnny English movie )
