Would you like Jeffrey Wright to be in Bond 24 (2014)? Will they let him have the honors of playing "Felix Leiter" in 3 James Bond movies?

I think he's a good Leiter and I believe in continuity. So if Leiter is in the film and he's up for it, I'd much rather see him than someone else. And, as much as I love Judi Dench as M and completely embraced a woman as M, I'd rather not see Felicity Leiter,

I'd absolutely love to have Jeffrey Wright back, have a nice-sized part in the film and give us a taste of the fully-developed Bond/Leiter friendship, which they never got to in the CR/QoS story arc.

I like him being a distant friend to Bond. I hope he makes an appearance again before Craig finishes.

Absolutely I want Jeffery Wright back as Felix. As others above have said, I'd like to see him have a bigger part. I don't want Felix to be a sidekick though. Just someone who can get support from America if Bond needs it, with out making the Americans mad. Similar to what Jack Wade did for Bond in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Well, he's pretty crap in the part - an American CIA office man as Ian Fleming's James Bond's BEST FREND? What bollox.

But, hey, he's Craig's Felix. And when, apart from Lord, Van Nutter and Hedison in LTK, has Leiter had anything to do with Fleming or his relationship with JB?

Since you mentioned Fleming, Felix was Bond's closet friend in his novels. Bond didn't have may close relationships. In Fleming fiction M was a father figure, Bond always fell for the " bird with a broken wing" And an American CIA agent was indeed Bond closet friend in Flemings novels. When Leiter was fed to the sharks in " Live and let Die " ( scene was in the movie LTK, ) it was indeed a very big deal, and the novel made it perfectly clear that Leiter was most likely Bonds " best " friend.

As I've said before, my problem with Wright's Felix is that he always comes across as dour and humorless. Felix is supposed to be light-hearted and fun. By all means, bring him back--but at least let him crack a smile!

"Does it look like we need the money?" Wright did a lot with very little so far. I'd rather he not be in another film if they're going to underuse him, but it would be nice to give him a larger role, a la LTK or even Dr. No.

I hope he doesn't return in Bond 24, heck i still don't like the fact they changed Felix's nationality for the new films.

    Nationality? He's still an American. . .

Yes, but nationality is still incorrect. Ethnicity would be accurate and avoid any negative connotations attached to the word 'race'.

Was Leiter stated to be of a certain ethnicity in the novels?

Well, Fleming does state that Leiter has a mop of straw-coloured hair....

IIRC, Connery tried justify casting Bernie Casey in NSNA by stating Fleming never mentioned Leiter's ethnicity, while ignoring the aforementioned straw-coloured hair.

I am prepared to be corrected here...but when I first read the original novels many years ago I seem to remember that TANNER was Bond's best friend. As a younger man who was mainly expose to the films I was surprised by this, thinking that 007's bessie sould have been good old Felix.

Anyway, back to the thread, I loved JR in CR and QoS, so yes a return to this form for Bond 24 would be great!!!

Best brace yourself for when they drop "Eve's" last name on you, Gordo. :))

M gets to change genders, Bond can go blond, but Leiter's "Ethnicity" is set in stone? And we really mean race - tell me these guys (ignoring Wright for the moment) are all the same "ethnicity":
