Saw him last October in Bath and really recommend it to everyone. He is an absolute pleasure to listen to and his stories are fantastic. Even if you are not a fan of his portrayal of Bond it is probably the only chance you will get to see an actual James Bond actor in this context and ask him questions.

I started this thread a few years ago now.
Time to give it a revamp.

Roger Moore at it again. As far as his atitude to woman are concerned. He's a real 007.
And for anyone who remembers watching the Saint, here is a bit of nolstagia for you.

For any Moore fans out there. I would highly reccomend the film The Wild Geese, which features Richard Burton and Roger Moore. If you think Moore is all tongue and cheek, think again!

I have a real soft spot for The Spy Who Loved Me and it worked much better as a campy sci-fi Bond instalment than Die Another Day, while For Your Eyes Only seemed to have fallen between the cracks like License to Kill.

Octopussy and A View to a Kill would've perhaps been more fondly remembered if Roger Moore had packed things in when he hit late middle age. Leading men can still be leading men despite looking rugged and old (look at Sean Connery in the 80s and 90s), however Roger Moore's face seemed to have started to deflate badly and his make up artist should've been fired.

Actually, I found Connery in Diamonds are Forever to look worse than in The Rock.

I think today's action heros work out and take better care of themselves and they last a lot longer. Not smoking and drinking a lot probably helps a lot. Other than make up and good luck, that explains why a 62 year old Lian Neeson can look just fine as an action star, while Connery and Moore looked pretty dreadful in their later Bond movies.

Interesting message from Roger on Twitter. "I'm filming an interview on Tuesday for a George Lazenby documentary."

I am assuming the interview will be for "This Never Happened To The Other Fella" due for release some time later this year. Something to look forward too.

George Lazenby documentary on the way

Yes sounds interesting and in a recent comedy show. When Sir Roger
Was on screen they put his name up as George Lazenby ! :))

Agree Liam Neeson looks fine in the Taken films, but they're different to Bond films. Stick him in a tux as 007 and people would struggle to accept him as James Bond, just as many did accepting Roger and Sean in their swan songs.

In my opinion, Connery couldn't have cared less about DAF. So didn't bother
Much with getting in to shape. :# In another film out the same year " The
Anderson Tapes" he looks far, far better, but then he probably cared about
    That film.

In "The Anderson Tapes" he looks about the same as in DAF: out of shape, but it's not so noticeable because the character is more ordinary looking than Bond.

He does look more natural, like in "The Anderson tapes" he could use his 1971 appearance and in DAF he was trying to be what he no longer was. The DAF wig is so obvious it's painful.

Check this pic out (with a very young looking Zorin).

It looks like they just took a magic marker and penciled in his hair.

I think that was Sean's own hair in the Photo, and I agree I may have been remembering the film with
rose tinted glasses. as I remember thinking he looked fitter than in DAF, perhaps not. :#

It's understandable TP. Seeing DAF you're comparing in your minds' eye with 1962-1965 Connery, which is probably as close to a perfect bod as a guy can get.

It's a joke. Kind of like what Higgins does with Dalton. I like Connery (at least in his earlier Bond movies), but his quality (and diet) surely slumped.
