All of the eggs were good in there own right, but, I could see that things were not working out with the project over the years with sizes and shape, and that the silversmiths were just making an egg with there own artistic licence, which is good, but not when its a Bond prop, and getting that point across was not easy, stopping the work on the first two eggs was hard for all concerned.
Now we have gone from here in 2011, probably much earlier start and a very gothic looking egg wrong shape and far to big.
To here, with a very pretty egg just the wrong shape, we have three bits of original 1983 reference from one of the original makers, so we know the circumference and hight is right, just the egg shaped wasn't what we wanted, we wanted an easter egg shape.
Then to this, which is a good match in my opinion

Well -all I can say is that without danjaq_off, the egg would not look like it does.
Pretty sure that one or the other silversmiths may have killed me in the meantime.
All previous eggs have been pieces of art of their own, but wrong in the end.
You have to imagine, that I rose my concerns during the process, but the replies where like
„It‘s 100% accurate, but the angle is not good“
„The finished egg will appear differently because....“
And let me say, that I have great respect for all involved craftsmen - they all are the best in their field - unfortunately that‘s not enough to make a 100% replica.
So all my thanks and praise go to danjaq_off and to all other moaners -that is for you

Yes...we really must look into that one day
I can only image just how tough it must have been to stop work on the previous incarnations...just from a financial point it must have been horrendous
