The Queen has been hailed the "most memorable Bond girl yet" as she was honoured by stars of stage, screen and television at a glittering reception.

Actor Sir Kenneth Branagh presented the monarch with an honorary Bafta in recognition of a lifetime's support of British film and television.

I was speaking to a guy on the British olympic managment team (not lord coe)
and enquired to who drew the short straw to go and ask Her Maj,
if she could be in the opening sequence,and he said it was Danny Boyle himself
and Her Maj was more than up for it,i cant remember the last time i cried with laughter
at the sight of Her Maj jumping out of a helicopter god knows what Johhny foriegnerr thought of it eh what, now wheres my gin

What a way to start a show and the Olympics no less. I think it showed just how 'Great' Britain can be. Throw in Queens improv chat with Mr Bond (OK that should have been Commander Bond) and I think it showed she has a good sense of humour! Parachuting in just topped it off.

Delivered as only we can - with true style. A pat on the back for the dude who dreamed that up fiction meet reality and two gret British icons what can one say.

Yesterday "Our Queen " was shown ( don't know if this was a repeat ) but
I thought it was amazing to hear that when asked about the Bond opening
for the Olympics and having her jump with Bond from a Helicopter. She was
all for it and though it very funny. -{
