    PART ONE

The Bond Breakfast Experience - Breakfast £87.00 incl service charge for two people @ the Dorchester Hotel

The sun was shinning outside the beautiful Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane London. The hustle and bustle of guests departing and arriving, Gleaming Mercedes and Rolls Royce's shinning on the forecourt and porters meeting and greeting you with a smile.
The anticipation of what was to come filled you with a warm glow!
As we made our way through the timeless revolving doors the city noise was a distant memory. The sound of the guests and serene music welcomed us into the grand foyer. Grand flower arrangements and beautiful soft seating drew us in and we welcomed by a host of Dorchester staff.
As we gave them our name and stated our reason for being there they walked with us to the welcome host at the grand grill restaurant - the transaction was seamless the restaurant manager guided us in to this most beautiful room with high ceilings, bold statement murals of Scottish warriors and heroes on the wall against a warm, yet dark gold/yellow background. The lighting was subtle as was the sound amongst the cups and cutlery being laid on the fresh white linen.
10.30 was a perfect time to come as we missed the morning rush and we had the attention of smartly dressed waiting staff.
They sat us at our table for two, one had the chair and one a soft sofa for one which was draped in tartan and a huge overflowing arrangement of roses sat behind us. The jams, honey and a plateful of pastries were delivered to our tables, along with a decadent 1920s coffee pot. As one placed our napkins in their rightful place another one delivered our 1969 Times newspaper and 1969 breakfast menus before us. The times was as crisp as new yet perfectly ironed flat. Next was the black magic of the book! Solo, One placed in each of wanting hands. As they withdrew from the table we were amused as with the gifts, the setting and the need to eat, we didn't know what to do first...
We placed our books to the side and sampled the warm pastries along with the hot coffee. On the table next to us, a couple from Halifax were on the same journey as us, squealing with excitement at their gifts and one starting to listen to the audio of the book that they had been leant on an iPod.
After eating the scrumptious pastries and after our second coffee two waiters bought us large plates of the ultimate James Bond breakfast, half a dozen crisp pieces of bacon, one tomato and six eggs scrambled egg, along with a rack of toast! The smell urged us to eat!
An hour had past, our tummies full, the restaurant began to clear before the lunch time sitting. We sat and explored our gifts, the 26th September 1969 newspaper had a whole host of interesting stories and well worth reading. The magical book was shinning and we left untouched until our journey home on the train. The waiters came back and forth to ensure we had everything we needed, bringing extra toast and coffee...
The grill restaurant was a beautiful setting and imagining 007 sitting where we sat smoking his cigarette certainly gives you that tingly feeling.
If you have the time or opportunity, take this James Bond experience and embrace it as it was truly amazing and worth the investment.
