I regard mine as totally different animals, the SM300 crosses over well between tool and dress watch, though that Ti po of mine gets serious wrist time. Funny hadn't worn the standard SM300 on bracelet for ages but put it on last weekend.

    Will he or won’t he?

That was the question on everyone’s minds at Thursday night’s Omega dinner at The Beekman Hotel. The private event for only 35 guests — a combination of watch journalists, VIP clients and execs from the watchmaker’s Swiss headquarters — was designed as an intimate conversation with Daniel Craig, who has worn Omega timepieces since his first stint as James Bond in 2006’s Casino Royale.

Craig famously indicated in an interview prior to Spectre’s 2015 release that he had no interest in a fifth Bond film, but might he be changing his mind? No answers were forthcoming about whether Craig will take on 007 for what thus far is known only as “Bond 25,” but if his relationship with Omega is any indication, we just might hear, “Bond, James Bond,” from his lips once more.

Omega has been providing timepieces for Bond films since 1995’s GoldenEye with Pierce Brosnan, and Craig admitted his experience with the watchmaker turned him into a fan.

As proof, on display in the room was the prize of his own watch collection, an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Co-Axial chronometer, which Craig wears in the opening sequence of Casino Royale. "This one has a very special place for me, because I didn’t think I’d ever own it," said Craig. “Who knew Casino Royale was going to be as successful as it was? I thought maybe, but if it’s swing and a miss, I’ll walk away. But I kind of wanted the watch; I thought it would be nice to have as a memento of this adventure.” Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson ultimately gifted Craig with the watch upon the film's completion; he noted that it's engraved, "With thanks and love" on the case back.

By then Craig had already purchased an Omega, a vintage Seamaster 300 – though it's notable that this wasn't his first major watch purchase. “That was a Breitling,” he said; mindful that Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann was sitting next to him, Craig quickly joked, "I was young and naïve at the time."

For 2012’s Skyfall, Craig wore a Seamaster Aqua Terra, a model he soon added to his personal collection. "I think it's important to have a thinner piece that you can wear under suits," he said. By the time Spectre began production, Craig was directly involved in the look of Bond's watch, more than any previous actor who had assumed the role, said Aeschlimann.

“When I came to [the Bond franchise], I was introduced to these guys, and we talked about the watch Pierce wore [in the previous films]. It's a beautiful watch, but it wasn't my watch, and I wanted to claim this a bit," explained Craig. "Last time, for Spectre, was completely collaborative. I told them, ‘I’d like the watch to do this,’ and they just said, ‘OK.'" The result of that conversation: the Seamaster 300 "Spectre" Limited Edition, featuring a bidirectional rotating diving bezel in black ceramic on a 41mm stainless-steel case, set on a NATO strap in gray and black stripes. Limited to 7,007 numbered pieces, the $7,500 watch has since sold out.

That success story is surely among the reasons Omega would love for Craig to continue as Ian Fleming's iconic secret agent. At the dinner that followed the Q&A session, Aeschlimann hinted at the idea when he raised his wineglass to toast his special guest. "You've been a wonderful ambassador," he told Craig. "I know I'm not alone in saying that we are hoping it's you."

I don't know if I'm onto something here, or if I'm talking nonsense, but I've been looking at some of the pictures of Daniel Craig from the SPECTRE premiere in Mexico, and I think he might be wearing an Aqua Terra from the 2500 series (like this: https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/seamaster/aqua-terra-chronometer/25038000/), rather than the latest Master Coaxial version he wore in the film. There are almost no pictures where you can definitely tell (though more on that later), but I have noticed what seems to be a lack of polished centre links on the bracelet, absence of the crown guards you get on the newer models, the "sunburst" effect of the dial that I have seen in pictures of the older Aqua Terra (I've never seen a blue one "in the metal") and what looks like a white date window, which is a feature of the 2500 blue model. Here are some links to some pictures:

No crown guards or polished centre links?:

White date window and sunburst dial?:
    http://tomandlorenzo.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Daniel-Craig-Spectre-Mexico-City-Premiere-Fashion-Tom-Lorenzo-Site-5.jpg

Now, about the lack of definitive pictures: there is only one picture with a good view of the dial, but I cannot get the picture to open, as the file size is too big or something, so I can only see a blurry version of it. It is the second picture along here (the one with the man in the red and black check shirt shirt putting his hand on Dan's shoulder):

    Thoughts, anyone?

    Interesting post Jellyfish -{
I have no definite information but, aqua terras with a blue dial and white date windows do exist and as dc has spoken of his regard for this model and has stated a dislike for thick watches in some situations it's not a reach to conclude he would add a 2500 model to his collection.

    Screenshot_20170311_142315.png

Another factor for no clear images to confirm his watch is that omegas are notoriously difficult to photograph, they are purposely designed to use materials that "play with light" how omega actually get the images they do for marketing is a mystery. In fact most photos online just do not do justice to an omega watch, only actually seeing one in the flesh does that

    Screenshot_20170311_143152.png

To my eye the watch he wearing in Mexico looks like the skyfall at.... but what about the white date window? Well the polished date window surround can reflect light especially camera flashes to appear like it's a white date window

    Screenshot_20170311_143116.png

Of course it could be the bond le aqua terra which would explain the dial looking sunburst as I have this watch and the dial on it can almost sparkle in some conditions, and dc did wear this during his interview with Jonathan Ross.

    20170311_145124.jpg

You will also notice that none of the aqua terras have crown guards.

Thanks for your reply, Chriscoop, they're all decent points. I hadn't considered the LE Aqua Terra, or the date window surround on the Skyfall AT, which could explain what I thought might be a bit of white. Regarding crown guards: the AT line doesn't have protruding crown guards like some other watches, but from the Skyfall model onwards, they do have an extra bit of metal on the crown side, which the crown 'nestles' in, which the older models didn't have. Looking at the 2500 ones straight on, the sides of the watch are symmetrical, just with the crown sticking out, but the newer ones are noticeably thicker on the right hand side.

This is true regarding the case around the crown, I've also got an aqua terra annual calender which has the old style case. The new style at's mirror more the planet oceans crown position in the case. To be honest dc probably has a vast collection of watches he's said he loves watches but stopped short of calling himself a collector with Dc's wealth he could have one of every omega ever made, it also helps being an omega ambassador and James bond. :D

I'm currently playing with strap options at the moment as I have too many on their bracelets, I've just bought a blue rubber strap for a PO, I bought the full rubber one without the leather backing as that's not so water friendly. Also considering putting the aqua terra le on it's blue strap with the yellow stitching, havnt tried that on yet.

Much better now cleaned, new crystal, light polishing, and serviced. I had the movement removed by my horologist and did the other work, he then put the movement back in the refused watch, it still looks used but at least it's clean and legible. The only non oem part was the bezel insert, I went with an after market item as buying a whole new bezel just couldn't be justified.

Looking good and it's the 2500 version. I have the Brosnan era version of the same watch (parallels again). The 2500 upgrade is probably one of the best ones I have seen Omega push out.

I know what you mean about straps, I saw a nice blue strap on AT that I thought looked really cool on the web

I wasn't sure what I was buying to begin with, it was just advertised as an omega divers style watch, I paid extra for them to have it authenticated, then realised it was the 2500 model, I suspected it was due the metal indices and red Seamaster legend. There are just some watches you need to have and any smp is a must I think, I had a quartz one years ago and sold it.
I think the at looks good on the blue strap, I've never tried it as I love the new style bracelet they have it on, but since I've bought the smp and the Ti po (which are staying on their bracelets) I need some variety, I'll put the at on the strap it came with tomorrow, and it will look like the one below. and I'll put a pic up as it will still be Wednesday. I've also been looking at an omega Croc strap in blue, any thoughts?
