    :)) I know release dates can be funny, no films from an actor for a couple
    of years. Then he seems to turn up in everthing. :D

    Still no UK release date for this film - but I have managed to watch it. Hehe.
    I really enjoyed it - packed with Bondian references, no coincidences me thinks!
    Have any of our cousins across the pond seen it yet and want to share a view??

    I saw it right after it was released in the US. Since it deals with more realistic dirty spying and dirty spies and international politics, I found it more like the Bourne films then Bond (granted, he deals with this is GE and QOS). Brosnan does something extremely immoral this this film (in a scene where he has an innocent hostage). It's something Bond would never do. I thought the whole movie was made up of a lot of scenarios that have already been done to death in other spy films, which is why I felt is was just ok as a thriller. The cast, production values and locations are fine, but it just wasn't new. I don't expect every new film in a genre to break new ground, but it seemed as though they were just going through the numbers. The Bourne films were very original for me, which is why I can watch them repeatedly. The same with some of the Mission Impossible films (especially Ghost Protocol, which was like a Bond film to me).

    Done with Bond ( if he'd had better scripts etc) he was as cold

    That probably would have been too cold for me. Pierce was fine as Bond. 'Safe' scripts yes, but highly enjoyable.
    Dalton nicked the best time to be Bond, and made the most of it. :))
