The Death Wish films got worse after the first two. Bit like the Home Alone films when Macauley Culkin left.

Any man cave should contain the following which should be watched consecutively while swinging a katana at a large bag of crisps!

Nico/Above the law, Hard to kill, Marked for death, Out for justice and Under siege!

And maybe the Notebook for the ladies
    Last rat standing.

I'd forgotten about Steven Seagal, his early films were great,( before he
    started to look like me, in body shape) ;) , and big John -{

Adult entertainment aside :)) , here's my two cents, based on a few favourites from my own bachelor-era living room:

    - Jaws ("We're gonna need a bigger boat.")
    - Patton ("Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.")
    - Aliens ("Another bug hunt.")
    - Predator ("I'm too busy to bleed." - PLUS: AWESOME Alan Silvestri score!!!!)
    - First Blood ("I don't think you understand. I didn't come to rescue Rambo from you. I came here to rescue you from him.")
    - The Searchers ("I don't believe in surrenders. Nope, I've still got my saber, Reverend. Didn't beat it into no plowshare, neither.")
    - The Star Wars classic trilogy (minus the dumb alterations).
    - The Deer Hunter ("You wanna play games? All right, I'll play your **** games.")
    - The Wild Bunch ("If they move, kill 'em!")

Other oddly satisfying: the first RoboCop, the two Arnie Conan movies, The Italian Job (the original one, with Sir Michael), The Last Boy Scout, Hudson Hawk (best use of a song in a movie ever)... I think you get the general idea without me rambling for too long (a bit late for that, no? - sorry, gents).

Of the ones already mentioned by fellow I'd say Zulu and the Die Hard movies (1, 2 and 4) are fantastic too.

PS: TP, I think we wanna see a pic of your sanctuary once it's done!

Let's not forget 'The Italian Job'

    Also maybe not a man cave film, but still a very good cowboy film of sorts, set in Australia 'Quigley Down Under' with Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman -{

I can certainly help you out here, TP. :D

    Machete
    The Killer
    Hard Boiled
    Robocop
    Eraser
    Cliffhanger
    Driven
    Shooter
    S.W.A.T.
    Blue Thunder
    Beverly Hills Cop
    Midnight Run

...also The Fast and The Furious films.

BTW, why don't you want to include The Expendables films? (Curious to know.)
No Man Cave would be complete without The Expendables 2 - come on, it's got just about every action star you could ever get together for one film!!

    :)) it's only The Expendables 3, I don't like. I think it was a big
Mistake to go for a 12a certification. :# I'd forgotten about
Machete -{ , another wonderful over the top movie. :D

Don't know if I understand your definition, TP, since I haven't seen any of the originally mentioned movies ( :# ).

But what about some good old fashioned war movies (how could people not have mentioned Das Boot!!!), or some other action-packed history films (Gladiator, Braveheart, Master and Commander). Even if you don't like the genre, those are all superb films.

And if you want to go about it from a slightly more humorous angle, top it off with some Indiana Jones maybe?
