AVTAK is more dark because it lacks the fantastical elements to offset the mass murdering. Similar to LTK as Higgins calls out.

That's what I mean, words out of place.

All the Bond films in the 80's are among my favourites as they are dark and hard-edged (except Octopussy) and no silly world domination plots as with the 70's.
