what do you imagine for these other new titles, and the Craig-era remakes?

For my new title, Everything Or Nothing would follow events from the Nightfire and EON video games.

My plan for FRWL is to have Bond help a governmental "Refugee" of NK escape East Asia in promise of nuclear secrets. The plan ultimately fails and is revealed to just be another assasination attempt that fails. It's canon but takes place after the events of Quantum Of Solace which will not be released for another 2 years.

I'm not too sure about what I want to do yet for Goldfinger as far as any plot changes, Maybe kind of like how they had it in the 007 Legends game. It's still in the works for me.

how do you think some of these films would be different with the different actors, filmed in different eras? for eg Connery doing ...Golden Gun the year it was published (that's actually another cool idea, too)

Golden Gun would have been less comedic due to it not being in the now reduced Moore era, no Sheriff Pepper (Not sure exactly how I feel about that), and would have been more respectful to Asian cultures than Moore. Also for the love of god, erase Goodnight, We've had enough blondes, let Andrea survive.

Thunderball with Lazenby would've been a good start, not exactly too hard, and has some wiggle room before OHMSS. It wouldn't have been as comedic because it follows the dramatic Golden Gun, and preferably reduce the underwater fight times.

You Only Live Twice would've been able to respect the Japanese culture even more, plus be an emotional followup to OHMSS. It would've been slightly darker as the Bond fandom has grown into a bit of Maturity. It would, in a way, be the end of the 1st generation of Theatrical Bonds

No changes to LALD except it's now the first movie of the second generation of Theatrical Bonds

The Property Of A Lady (Octopussy) Would have a little less SFX, i'm not sure what happens to the plane stunt, the PTS in the beginning is not as dramatic and tense (You know what i'm talking about, the part before Bond is caught). At the same time, it wouldn't be ridiculously campy as they are now in the 2nd movie of the 2nd generation of Theatrical Bonds, so they won't be going all out. Slightly more mature than LALD, not as campy as TSWLM.

There are no changes to the The Spy Who Loved me, except that it is the finale of the short lived 2nd generation of Theatrical Bonds, the "fun era", as you would call it.

Moonraker - A View To A Kill would be in the 3rd generation of Bonds where they maintain a general sense of Drama and Maturity, but nothing really dark and brooding, but still feeding in.

The Living Daylights - The World Is Not Enough is the 4th generation with incredibly dark Bonds, which means we have to workshop them a touch (TLD to lose Moore camp, LTK to just stop using sound gags, and changing the tone of Brosnan's first 3 films a tad, and having the only Bond girl in TWINE be Elektra, who is still killed by Bond

Everything Or Nothing would not belong to a generation, It's more of a throwback to the Connery - Lazenby tones.

The Daniel Craig movies would keep the same tones, minus QOS' Jason Bourneness. Fix it. QOS story should have been more like the Game edition.

thanks for expanding some of your ideas Italus. The lists barely give us a clue, you obviously have a good imagination and see more in your mind than what these simple lists convey. Keep 'em coming!

I sketched out a theoretical 1965 Casino Royale in another thread that may amuse you: https://ajb007.co.uk/topic/46610/fixing-cubby-broccolis-eon-productions-bad-films/page/2/ post 34. It basically assumes an alternate timeline, with one change having repercussions on future films. One thing I found, working out the logic, is an attempt to make one bad thing better may make some good things worse. Specifically, I don't think we would have got a tragic ending to Casino... if it had been made with Connery in 1965.

Sounds intersting, Potts. I'm thinking of starting a new branch of the alternate timeline with unofficial releases. Heres a quick brainstorm.

    Alternate Unofficial Releases:

    Sean Connery:
    1970 - Casino Royale
1983 - Never Say Never Again

    George Lazenby:
    1978 - Colonel Sun
    1982 - For Special Services

    Timothy Dalton:
    1986 - Nobody Lives Forever

    Pierce Brosnan:
    2005 - Doubleshot

Now that i'm pretty happy with the list, I just want to put up some concepts.

What if Sam Neill had a brief stint in between Moore and Dalton?

Here's a brief concept of what it could've looked like:

    RM:
    1973 - LALD
    1975 - POAL
    1977 - TSWLM

    SN:
    1979 - FYEO
    1981 - AVTAK
    1983 - NLF

    TD:
    1985 - MR
    1987 - TLD
    1989 - LTK
    1993 - DTS
Movie: From Russia With Love | Novel: On Her Majesty's Secret Service | Actor: Sean Connery | Girl: Melina Havelock | Car: Aston Martin V8

    Concept #2:

What if, up until the point of '69, everything from the current timeline we are living in now has been the same, except that Lazenby never quit?

    Here's this concept

    GL:
    1969 - OHMSS
    1971 - DAF
    1973 - TMWTGG
    1975 - CS
    1977 - TSWLM
    1979 - POAL
    1981 - FYEO

    TD:
    1983 - MR
    1985 - AVTAK
    1987 - TLD
    1989 - LALD
    1993 - NLF

Kinda glad this never happpened because it cuts out Moore and as much as he may be my least favorite, I loved him in LALD and TSWLM. Dalton in Fleming's version of LALD is pretty interesting though instead of getting LTK

    Concept 3:
What if in '86, in the universe we are living in right now, Remington Steele never renewed, and Timothy Dalton never played Bond?

    PB:
    1987 - TLD
    1989 - LTK
    1993 - POAL
    1995 - HR
    1997 - TND
    1999 - TWINE
    2002 - DAD

    Concept #4:

What if (oh lord) Timothy Dalton did agree to follow up Sean? (Far stretch)

    TD:
    1969 - OHMSS
    1971 - DAF
    1973 - LALD
    1975 - TMWTGG
    1977 - TSWLM
1979 - MR (No bloody spaceships)
    1981 - FYEO
    1983 - POAL
    1985 - AVTAK
    1987 - TLD

There is no way Dalton would

    1) Do any more movies after LTD
    2) Even be the face of Bond for 18 years

This would have been a disaster, we did need Roger Moore, but our timeline did over saturate him, but this concept? This is seriously one of the worst ideas, coming from a Dalton fan. The stress would probably have given Dalton some Moore looks by the time he did LTK. This would have been 10 Movies. 3 more than Lazenby's original plan and Moore's stint himself. It is a No from me.

    Concept #5:

What if Pierce Brosnan wasn't fired after DAD?

    PB:
    2004 - EON
    2006 - CR
    2008 - QOS

    DC:
    2010 - SF
    2012 - BS
    2014 - SPECTRE

    Concept #6:

What if Bond 23 wasn't delayed?

    DC:
    2006 - CR
    2008 - QOS
    2010 - BS
    2012 - SF
    2014 - SPECTRE
Movie: From Russia With Love | Novel: On Her Majesty's Secret Service | Actor: Sean Connery | Girl: Melina Havelock | Car: Aston Martin V8

    Concept #7 (Final):

What if the MGM lawsuit of the early 90's never happened?

    TD:
    1991 - POAL
    1993 - DTS

This is the final one, sorry for throwing out all of these concepts but it's just whatever goes through my train of thought when i'm on the forums.
