Casino Royale Turnbull & Asser dress shirt

Hi all,

Looking to get myself one of the above shirts, although when I'll next get to wear it is anyone's guess.

Does the weave/texture run all over the shirt, i.e. not just a bib as is standard with lot of dress shirts?

If anyone could post some photos, that would be appreciated.

Cheers!
Yes but my martini's still dry.

This shirt is textured throughout. It is a waffle-weave fabric, not marcella. The standard dress shirt with the textured bib, collar and cuffs is cotton marcella, which is thicker and stiffer than the CR waffle weave, so it's not suitable for the whole shirt. Usually the rest of those shirts is a lightweight cotton voile or poplin. The CR waffle-weave fabric is much different and works well as a whole shirt.

As Matt said. It's a beautiful shirt and feels luxurious.

I've owned a number of high quality formal shirts - Turnbull & Asser, Kiton, Brioni, and Brooks Brothers MTM. The Casino Royale shirt, Bond connection notwithstanding, is far and away the best formal shirt I've owned. I can't imagine wearing a different one. Incidentally, I'm bouncing around AirBnBs but am lugging around formal wear for a handful of Zoom weddings (this is why I impulse purchased the TF jacket I'm looking to trade) and naturally that's the shirt I brought.

You'll see that the weaving is throughout the shirt. The cuffs, collar, back of the shirt. The whole thing.

    Thanks for the replies gents.

I've been after one for a while and had been investigating having one made elsewhere so I shall definitely be going to T&A for the real deal. I do prefer the look of the texture over the entire shirt.

Nice! I don't think you'll be disappointed. Are you planning to go bespoke or MTM/stock special?

Planning on going for MTM. Last I checked there is a minimum order for T&A bespoke and at the moment I don’t need any other shirts so it wouldn’t warrant the additional ones that I’d have to order.

Glad to hear you're going for the T&A. Apart from other English bespoke shirtmakers, nobody will be able to replicate the style of this shirt. The way English bespoke shirtmakers make the fly front is different from how others do it, and nobody else seems to be able to get it right.
