Amazon TV mini-series for faithful time period accurate retelling of the books?

I asked ChatGPt: Can you recreate the David McLusky portrait of James Bond 007 resembling Hoagy Carmichael as a photo realistic photo in colour.

The image above is what it created. Pretty good.

I think an Amazon TV mini-series for each of the books setting them in their original time period could have the actor's face altered so they look like the Daily Express newspaper portrait of Bond that Fleming approved.

If ChatGPT can create this image in seconds, a CGI face for an actor should be feasible in the years to come.

It would end the need to find an actor with the right look, they just need to be a good actor.

ChatGPT is pretty amazing. Seconds to produce this with a photo realistic rendition of the Daily Express Fleming approved Bond in the classic gun barrel pose.

This is everything that is wrong with AI…use real actors, or just don’t bother…if it’s for an animated-type film…ok…I could see that.

No I mean a live action TV series with an actor who plays Bond, but they add the dots to the actor's face and overlay onto it Fleming's approved face for Bond. They already do this for stunt workers, they put dots in specific place on their faces and the computer uses those points to map the actor's face onto the stunt workers. They did this for Craig in the Skyfall Istanbul rooftop motorbike chase.

It can be called "digital double" or "facial mocap," mocap being motion capture.

Here are some videos showing how changing someone's face with CGI is already possible with inexpensive software.

Brilliant. Needs blue eyes though and the scar, then it would be perfect. That’s exactly how I see Flemings Bond when reading the original books.

I'm all for a period TV series sticking to the books.

I told it a scar on his right cheek but clearly ChatGPT doesn't understand his right and our right. I asked it to move the scar and it said that was against its policies. It wouldn't make the gun a Beretta 418 replica either for the same reason.

Yep…I understand all that…and it makes sense for stunt work…but for the main character to be mapped (facially) this way…?…terrible idea.

Needs the ‘comma of hair that rests on the forehead’….😁

I do like the idea of a period tv show that uses the books more faithfully…I’m not sure it would have a big appeal though 🤔

Excellent. Yes, like Sir Miles says. Just missing that comma of hair.

Fascinating. He looks like a colder, less handsome version of john Hamm.

Jason Isaacs will always be the literary James Bond for me.

Yes, Isaacs has the Hoagy Carmichael/Daily Express/ChatGPT simulation photo look, as did Dalton. Of the actors who did play Bond, I always thought Dalton was the best "Bond of the novels". Pity he never did more of the films. Isaacs would be too old now for the part, as he's nearing 60, but would have been ideal when Brosnan left - or when Dalton left.

I would love a mini-series for each movie. How amazing would that be?

He could mocap for an Amazon series using a younger digital likeness of the Hoagy Carmichael/Daily Express approved portrait.

His own natural voice would be good for Bond, he doesn't have a northern or Scots or Welsh accent.
