Looks generic like Spiderman, Uncharted, Jedi Fallen Order and Hogwarts Legacy.

I think there’s some stuff here that indicates this could have promise. The facial scar is something we’ve never seen from an EON Bond (before you start yelling about Amazon, remember, this game has been in development for years. The concept was greenlit in 2020 before Amazon was even in the picture, before NTTD even came out. It was obviously very far along when EON handed over control. So in many ways, it’s the last EON Bond we’ll ever get). The origin story thing feels a little tired, but they’ve said a trilogy is the goal, so starting young makes a certain amount of sense since we could be looking at a decade of games.

This looks promising. I'm eager to learn more about the game.

So far, it feels like the Unchartered version of 007: so, Bloodstone.

It is I/O Interactive, however, who are one of my favourite game developers. So, there's that.

Honestly, on the fence which is an odd position for me to be in given my love of Bond and I/O.

I will say that the likeness is wrong. Even if the plan is to go for a younger Bond, it doesn't have the classic lacquer. Too slick.

But it is nice to have an older Q again.

I think the likeness is good, it looks pretty like the actor. Only they’ve beefed him up slightly.

Uncharted wasn't generic when it launched and a game of the standard of any instalment in that series would be the best Bond game of this style there's ever been.

Playing through the Great Circle recently did make me decry the lack of Bond gaming so this looks good until it doesn't.

I saw they were going to show the first 30 min, I guess I'm too scared to watch it, I think I want to go into this game spoiler-free.

With the studio who make the game, I wish we could do like in their "Hitman" game series

Looking at all the clues in the trailers and supplements, 009 is likely the main antagonist (or henchmen) and the main public face for the evil organisation 009 is working for is in all probability Webb Industries (we see James Bond gatecrash a Webb Industries gala event and in the restricted area Bond beats up/shoots goons).

Webb Industries could be the main legitimate business front for the game's equivalent of Janus or SPECTRE. The central Plot McGuffin that 009 and Webb is involved with is maybe a AGI supercomputer core (we see a blink and you miss it glimpse of it in a teaser trailer).

    New trailer:

I'm absolutely loving what I'm seeing here.

Lack of comments here sadly, but in short, Lana's theme sounds great - a few twists and turns; quite Brosnian (been hearing it on the radio a lot, and even the hosts are thrilled); the titles look fantastic if a little too Craigesque, but experiencing them together gave me chills like that first magical viewing in the cinema. Plus the gameplay and gadgetry at hand has this fan frothing.

Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

Do you guys think there will be atleast some other easter eggs in this game, i know there will be some by the looks of the trailer, but what about easter eggs cameos like example jaws suddenly drops in from behind. That would be cool

  • emtiememtiem SurreyPosts: 6,820MI6 Agent

I'm hoping they might put in some of he more famous gadgets perhaps; I think the trailer said different ones will appear as you progress.

Not keen on seeing too many past references tbh, like the golden gun you can buy with one of the bundles doesn't faze me, but it will be cool to play in the throwback skins.

Might be some minor spoilers. But great acknowledgement of Bond history!

  • sinlumsinlum Posts: 380MI6 Agent

Unfortunately I am not an avid gamer and haven't followed the Bond games for at least 10 years. However having a look around at reviews and gameplay walkthroughs of First Light, it looks like the developers have done a splendid job on this game. It really does seem like they hired a pool of die hard Bond fans who have put in a lot of snippets from the previous films and books. They really did their homework and knew what they were doing. And yet at the same time the developers have created a new Bond look and narrative that reflects the character well and could lead into more sequels in the future.

A lot of people were moaning about Amazon purchasing the Bond rights, but it has to be said, I don't think Amazon have put a foot wrong so far. It seems they care about protecting the legacy of the franchise. Lets just hope it continues with Bond 26...

  • emtiememtiem SurreyPosts: 6,820MI6 Agent

To be fair First Light has been under development for around five years, so it's debatable how much of a product of the Amazon MGM tenure over 007 it is.

  • sinlumsinlum Posts: 380MI6 Agent

I didn't know that about the development time of the game, It seems EON approved the project before handing over all the rights to Amazon.

At least Amazon allowed the project to continue trouble free without getting involved in any new age political correctness contrivances. Just hope that continues for Bond 26 and beyond.
