This display, in the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, sets Bond's Walther PPK against Dirty Harry's 44 Magnum, and whatever it was that Rambo used. By comparison, it looks like Bond's Walther is next for the same "lady's handbag" that DN's Quartermaster had in mind for the Beretta.
These DAF and 'Dirty Harry' posters caught my eye in the display case; the films are of the same vintage. The Magnum features heavily in the 'Dirty Harry' poster. The Walther in the DAF poster is metely a prop in Bond's conventional pose; the playboy idea being more to the fore.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Gun on the right looks like an AKS-47.
I remember when we went through my granddad's stuff after he passed away some time ago and one item he had was a PPK with a handle with Nazi insignia. I guess he got it in the war. I think it was deactivated, but we had to take it to the police station (along with a five-chamber Smith & Wesson which I think is rare..?) as my uncle was a police officer and with us at the time. I wonder what a wartime PPK is worth.
I went to the Royal Armouries a few years ago and they had a James Bond exhibition. One display showed the guns that Major Boothroyd suggests alongside the PPK in the Dr No novel.
The PPK is a concealed carry weapon, Dirty Harry carried one of the most powerful handguns. Rambo used a range of guns, but the most iconic is probably the M60 machine gun. I haven't seen all the Rambo films, but concealed carry was never his priority as I recall. I don't know what the point to the thread is, Maybe that different (anti) heroes need different guns?
Yes, there's no point other than that it's kind of interesting to note Bond references in museums etc.
