New poll (late 2025): Who do you want as the next James Bond?
This is the new and updated next James Bond poll as of December 2025. I've been strict at not included anyone aged 40 or older. This means some fan favourites are gone, but I've chosen to put the line there. If the rumours are true I should perhaps set the age limit even lower. You can vote for as many candidates as you want to. Please keep in mind the poll is about actors you WANT as Bond, not actors you maybe find acceptable.

Comments
The old poll is closed.
If you don't find your candidate in the poll I'm sorry, but please post the name of the actor in the thread.
Some numbers from the old poll:
229 votes cast.
Henry Cavill got 87 votes
Tom Hiddleston got 33
Aidan Turner got 31 votes
Only one of the candidates in both the 2020 poll and the new one got 20 or more votes.
Dang I forgot Sope Dirisu. There's always a few of them! Thanks for starting this though, will be fun to see how it turns out.
In the about 90 minutes since I posted the poll I've thought of two actors who probably should've been in the poll, and now Sope Dirisu! I suspect there will be more. Comes with the territory, a bit like starting the washing machine and immediately you start finding dirty socks ..... 😅
This EON X post is interesting, showing how many actors go through the audition mill. "72 names were linked to the role before Daniel Craig auditioned on September 29." A first round of auditions had occurred in the July.

The way I understand it is more like "although there were many names linked to the role, we had in mind Daniel Craig". Not that there were 72 auditions.
Everything one needs to know must watch CR06 with commentaries. Debbie McWilliams explains they had nobody else in mind, but they had to screentest other actors in the meantime because they didn't know whether he would take the part or not. Craig's own screentest was not a genuine one. Babs just wanted to see how great he would be, and the least we can say is she had a good eye.
Funny thing, unlike in the past when I always had some actor or actors in mind to take over the role of Bond I actually don't have anyone in mind in the 30 and under range that is rumored to be where the new production team is looking. I just pretty much react to the latest rumored name (most of who I find to be unsuitable) ☹️
Make sure you catch the last chapters of the AJB Christmas Special! https://www.ajb007.co.uk/uploads/543/AYDQYO4IO6U5.png
Look for some real nuggets with 007. 😃
My vote is still Henry Cavill. The man is perfect for the role
Has this guy been mentioned as a possible Jacob Fortune-Lloyd ? just realised probably too old shame .https://www.imdb.com/name/nm7066351/bio/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm
Leo Suter would be ideal imho
Been watching Leo Suter in the new Lynley series. He has the looks but he's really wooden with the acting. I've never seen him in anything else so only have Lynley to go by.
In this poll, Callum Turner takes the lead by far. He's my number one pick, but I really like Jack Lowden for the role too.
Danile Craig showing some really bad judgement: "a woman should be considered to play James Bond".
Nearly seven years ago, he may have changed his mind by now, to be fair! 🙂
I didn't see the date. My bad. 😂
If going for younger Bond..maybe Jack Patten could be considered
The Sun is the source, so this is obviously true. 😉
'One of our insiders confirmed us Daniel Craig will do another Bond after this one'.
The Sun, September 2021
Henry Cavill has got my vote. And no woman should be playing James Bond. Just create another character for one if you want sweet, sophisticated, stone-cold Assassin.
I'm all for a woman playing a different 00 agent.
For me, the ideal Commander Bond will always be the elegant Patrick McGoohan.
But there was another gentleman I was always very curious about.
This face belonged to Pan Books managing director Ralph Vernon-Hunt, which you will find on the 'Great Pan' 007 paperbacks with Mr. Sam Peffer's beautiful artwork.
Ralph Vernon-Hunt, served as the Sales Director at Pan Books from 1947 to 1962 and had a distinguished service in the RAF, where he was decorated with a DFC, for acts of valor in WWII.
I think he would have made a fine Commander Bond.
Beautiful paperbacks.
Don't forget to vote in the poll! So far we've got 27 votes, but the more votes we get the clearer we know what the active and non-active members thnk in this important issue. 😊
Just voted. Sorry for my tardiness.
As long as you didn't vote by post it's all right, I hear. 😁
