As Amazon is going younger for Bond, I had a look at IMDb for actors born in the UK, at least 5ft 10' and who would be between the ages of 25 and 30 come 2028, when Bond26 might be released.
With the comments that Bond should be someone who looks like they could kill you with their bare hands and Nina Gold's comment that Bond has to have sex appeal they would seem to have a tough task at hand. The trouble with 20-something actors is they often are baby faced. I offer the following actors as more possible candidates, with a broad idea of what 'look' the Amazon Bond could have.
Agreed. From the playthroughs I have watched, he owns the role. It seems a lot of fans of the game are wanting him to be the real Bond in the next film. Amazon should take interest.
Also, Amazon run the risk of recruiting another actor who doesn't live up to expectations, and Patrick Gibson remains more popular from the game. I dare say an echo of the Brosnan/ Dalton dilemma.
Yeah, I'm fine with how he looks. I'd maybe put him on a training regimen to bulk him up a bit for the live action gig but he's fine. More importantly, he has the right amount of snark to his demeanor...kinda a mix between Dalton, Lazenby, and Brosnan. He also seems like a nice guy in his interviews, a real enthusiastic advocate for the game and for Bond in general. You want that to help build goodwill when you relaunch the cinematic franchise.
I think it's Callum Turner's role to lose right now but I would not be shocked if Gibson moved to the front of the pack due to the apparent success of the game.
I haven't played the game myself, but from what I've seen he does a good job as James Bond in First Light. But I don't think Gibson is on Amazon's radar at all. Would they really accept that the the next Bond was picked by a Danish computer game company (and EON I think)? Would they want their planned movie star to be first and formost known from a computer game by millions? I very much doubt it.
On the question of casting... Rather than Bond himself, Turner seems to me to have more of the look that I'd always imagined of the young chap who chats to Bond while driving him to Shrublands in the novel 'Thunderball'.

The game itself is a huge success, both financially and critically. I'm playing it and I know many people who are also playing it...so far, we all love it, and the overall reviews for the game agree with us. Notably, the response to Gibson's take on Bond has been almost universally lauded. To not even consider him for the gig would be an error.
Yes he can. DEV time on one of these games is at least 4 years. He can do the motion capture and dialog work for a few months and then focus on doing the films, going back when necessary to do some ADR or additional motion capture. It'd be easy.
In a word....no. You are watching a CGI rendering of Patrick Gibson as Bond in a video game using motion capture. They can take an actor and CGI them to be Connery in his prime. Gibson in reality is 5'9 1/2", baby faced, and relatively slight of build (which I guess could be remedied with work outs). I'm an old man so I showed Gibson pictures to my 30 year old daughter and she found him to be "a cutey". James Bond (including a young Bond) in the Cinema (and the novels) is not a "cutey". Younger Bond, fine by me. Just make damn sure it's the right Bond actor. Not for me....but who knows, that's why they call it "movie magic".
My inpression from YouTube is that Gibson's Bond in First Light is really good, but I'm not sure he can do the same on the big screen. But even more inportant is that Amazon will want to pick their own star. If they go for Gibson he'll be the last EON-approved James Bond. I suspect will want to pick their own Bond and present him to the world themselves, not inherit him from EON and a Danish computer game company.

Yeah I think he’s a very good actor, I was impressed by him in Industry and Magpie Murders, although I haven’t seen the Richard Burton film he did.

If I were a betting man, I'd put all of my chips on Callum Turner.

He's my current favourite too, but I won’t mind being surprised like I was back in 2006.
