Why does Bond try to meet Le Chiffre just before the staircase fight because dosen't Bond have to beat him a the poker game and offer the deal made by MI6 the one for protection for infomation and also dos Bond want to kill him?

I think Bond was going to scare him and then offer him the deal. Because it isn't easy to win at poker, so Bond wanted to bypass that I guess.

I never really was under the impression that Bond wanted to meet with LeChiffre. I thought he just wanted to listen in with his bug and needed to be closer to LeChiffre room to do so.

I'm not saying I'm right, that's just how I interpreted the events.
