Hi, New to the forum and apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I have a hardback edition of 'Live and Let Die' which I believe might be a first edition. Quoting from inside cover " First published 1954. This edition first published by the Reprint Society Ltd by arrangement with Messrs Jonathon Cape Ltd 1956." The book is in good nick and still has its paper sleeve. Can anybody advise what it might be worth? Are there any specialists that deal in these?
Thanks
Scott

Sorry, Mark, have to disagree with you on that one. Right now at alibris.com, there are 1st edition with dustjacket copies of LALD ranging anywhere from about £1500 up to over £18,000.-{
I'm not sure if you mis-read the post from Mark Hazard or not....... it's not a true 1st Edition but a Book Club edition.
Here's a few of these books from abebooks.co.uk - Live And Let Die
Prices vary, as usual, and just because they ask for a certain price just be sure you really know how much it's worth before you buy it.
As for value - it's always worth remembering that something is only ever worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.
Accepted, no worries. {[]
My copy has a receipt from World Books for 5/3 (that's 5 shillings and thrupence for those too young to remember) and 9d (ninepence) for despatch, 6/- (six shillings) in total (30p in todays money), to someone who lived/lives less than ten miles away from my present address. It cost me all of 70p.
