QoS Title Song

What do you think of title song in Quantum of Solace? I like the instrumental but I hate the lyrics and I hate the two people Marc Forster chose to sing the duet. Alicia Keys and Jack White's voices don't blend in very well with each other in my opinion. I think it's like listening to nails on a chalk board whenever those two open their mouths! :s

I think they should've used the instrumental from "Another Way to Die" during the title sequence and they should've played the full song during the end credits. Terence Young did the same thing with From Russia with Love. :007)
"I admire your courage, Miss?..." "Trench, Sylvia Trench."

"I admire your luck, Mister?..." "Bond, James Bond."

    I didn't like it originally although it is growing on me.

    I like it quite a bit more than I did when I first heard it. Is it on the same level as the classics---probably not. But I enjoy it in the context of the film, and the titles sequence---which I also admittedly enjoy more than most around here!---and it made its way onto my latest Bond theme mix-disc, which is bookended with YKMN at the beginning and AWTD at the end.

    The only film themes not on there: Gladys Knight's Licence To Kill and Madonna's Die Another Day. On an 80-minute disc, one has to draw the line somewhere ;)

    My youngest son, Loeff III, really loves the DAD tune---it's one of his favourites---and I don't mind it, either...but it's very long, and I ran out of disc space ;% :D So I gave my old mix disc, which includes DAD, to him B-)

    I've loved Another Way To Die since I first heard it. I particularly love the guitar riff.

    Now....Madonna's DAD track....it's pretty poor as a song...BUT it fits the title sequence beautifully.

    I don't know why you people like the cheesy lyrics in "Another Way to Die" so much. "If There Was a Man" by The Pretenders is so much better in my opinion. I guess the lyrics in "If There Was a Man" are just as cheesy but at least it doesn't sound like nails on a chalk board.

    Another Way to Die is for me easily the worst song of the series: noisy, dissonant, and full of really silly lyrics. DAD was vapid, TMWTGG was fluff, but AWTD is just painful. Too bad as the title sequence was pretty inventive. If only it had gotten a song worthy of its visuals. Bang, bang indeed.

    I currently have "Another Way to Die" installed as the ringtone on my phone. The opening is loud enough so that I can always hear it when my phone goes, and it's a great incentive to pick it up before the singing starts... :p

    I'd rather listen to a sack full of drowning cats being dipped into a vat of boiling water as all the boy cats have their kitten making equipment removed by being smacked with two bricks.
    But the song does match the titles "Bullets hitting sand" an image of "missing the mark".

    I think it says everything that the producers (or some disdaining person) chose a rather monotonous melodic line over the end credits after the playing of the Monty Norman theme, in lieu of repeating the song as with so many other Bond films.

    I like it as a song, but as a Bond song I initially hated it but it is growing on me.

    I really enjoyed Chris Cornell's in Casino Royale which made it hard for me to like.

    Furthermore there voices do not go together.

    I completely agree with you -{

    But I don't think the voices were supposed to go together, Watch the QOS DVD Extras, The music video, Alica Keys says about them being opposite etc etc.

    I honestly did not know Arnold wrote the end music. It's kind of catchy for a minute but then I go on with my life. I take nothing away from him as a composer as I feel CR and QOS are magnificent scores and I pump them up in my car virtually every day. I guess I'm traditionalist as I just like to see a Bond film end with a great song.

    There's only one singer who can provide the proper title song for Craig's morose take on Bond (not a knock, Bond was a mopey bastard in the books):

    I thought the OST to QoS was one of Dave Arnold's best, however, the themesong should have been woven into the overall soundtrack.

    "Another Way To Die" minus Jack White = good Bong song as evidenced in this video:

    Alicia Keys KILLS it! It should've been just her doing the song as a solo to begin with instead of the lame duet we got.

    Good find, It is IMHO better with just Alicia Keys.

    Every time I hear this song - I love it more and more (and question the criticism it got, but each their own :# )

    This is a great version - and yes, she could have carried it on her own very well - however I do like the duet too....

    Great find.... and I love the silver pants -{

    He could be quite mopey in the books but he was also fairly chirpy on occasions (the meetings with Felix).

    I read that Mary Byrne, One of the x-Factor rejects has let it be know she want's to sing a Bond song, or rather SHOUT out a Bond song. :))

    The riff is great, even if it is clearly an unimaginative ripoff of the riff from You Know My Name.

    Other than that, however, there's nothing good about it. One of the worst themes in the series' history.

    Sorry sir miles the bad news is there is no known cure.....

    The good news is you'll never hear it again unless you watch the film....

    Chris cornell on the other hand, did a great job with Arnold and it's one of my all time favs.

    The song has grown on me over time, Still think it's one of the worst but at least I can listen to it now. :v
