Depending on the type of movie we get I'd like to see a return of the island type clothing from Casino Royale bahamas or older movies. Linen, polos and other relaxed items. Might be a nice change from the more tightly buttoned up Spectre looks.

I second this however why not throw him in some smart looking shorts for a change of pace. If the rumor and innuendo is true about the upcoming storyline there would be room to see him in a more relaxed setting.

In regard to Tom Ford, I think that there is a misunderstanding as to how incredible some of his pieces really are.

I have worn Kiton, Brioni, Cucinelli, RLPL, RLBL, Oxxford, etc. and the suits that he sells are on a different level. Every item I have purchased from that brand is the best in whatever category it falls under.

Best knitwear and I have owned several Smedley and N.Peal pieces.
Best dress shirts, have owned Eton, RLPL, RLBL, Cucinelli, etc.
Best ties, have owned Drake, Kiton, Zegna, RLPL, and Brioni

I have not tried his jean, however they are not unreal in price compared to other selvage jeans. I have not bought his shoes, I like what I have.

Sure, all of the prices are uncomfortably high to some. It really all depends on your lifestyle, does Brad Pitt care about spending $1000 on a pair of Private Collection sunglasses, no probably doesn't think twice.

This point of Tom Ford quality vs. price has been brought up countless times and it will continue so I guess this post was unnecessary.

    Best,

I just read an interview with Babs regarding her most recent non-Bond Project ("Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool"), and the article mentioned that Jany Temime was the costume designer on the film. Obviously the director is going to have some say, but my money is on Temime being in the mix for B25, especially given Babs' statement in the article that (paraphrasing) she thinks it's important to have as many women as possible working on her films.

I'm guessing those reports earlier this year of Jamie Bell being the next Bond after being seen dining with Babs have more to do with this film than they do of him being the next Bond. Thank goodness.

Babs was in Toronto last night at TIFF while DC is in Toronto tonight for TIFF. I'm hoping they found time for a chat and some solid planning.

I would expect Jany to be back for Bond 25, makes sense since they have a successful history with her now.

Right. Lindy Hemming worked with four different directors, so we have modern precedent for it.

I really hope Jany will be back.
I especially love her openness with the Bond community and providing insiders tips of clothing brands and stories to share.
I remember a lot of memembers here struggled with Quantom and Casino as there were no direct contact with the custome designers.

I would say the same if it weren't for the poor fitting suits. That said, trends have changed quite a bit, even since 2015. So we might very well get something different with regard to the tailored clothing. She's probably the best in the series' history when it comes to Bond's casual clothes!

    Very true !
Up until QOS,I Used to think of Bond Clothing in films as an unattainable pleasure due to its expensive luxury price tags (plus the looks really didn’t justify the price tag).
Things changed beginning with SkyFall and I found myself burning all sort of crazy money on casual clothing, coats, TF suits and C&J shoes ! Still I have no regrets ! The only difference is now, I save up in between films and don’t buy anything else in between :))

I hear that! Although I've come to James Bond quite recently (largely due to being a fan of Daniel Craig) and have to play catch up, I'm still far behind in acquiring clothing from the recent Bond films.

It will be nice when I get the remaining items off my list and can give the wallet a break.
I know my wife will be happy. :D

So has it been confirmed that Jany will be back for Bond 25? I hope so. She has done a splendid job overall thus far and has put together several great, iconic looks. Specifically in SkyFall, there are so many great clothing moments. Even though there has been a lot of criticism of how DC's suits fit, I love the looks of them and think that several of the more casual outfits are well done.

Now of course many of these looks are not necessarily ground breaking but they are based on timeless, classic clothing. It's the way they are put together and just seem to "suit" DC's characterization of Bond that really make the clothing organic to him and to the film. I mean just look at the SkyFall lodge outfit for example, just fantastic.

Then again, thanks to Lindy Hemming in CR I also love the Madagascar outfit, the arrival at the Ocean Club, the polo / chino combo, the Ocean Club poker outfit, and the Venice looks.

    There are a lot more but I have rambled on enough for now. Bottom line, I'm a fan of Ms.Temime's work on Bond thus far. :007) Cheers. -{

Apart from the justifiable criticism of the fit of some of the suits, I really can't think of one Daniel Craig Bond outfit that I haven't liked.

As others have noted, the casual outfits have been superb, and I love the suits too.

It's funny how excited I am to see what he is wearing in Bond 25 so I can go get my replicas :-)

CR and then definitely QOS created a surge of renewed interest with Bond's clothing. But it didn't really explode in and outside the forum until Skyfall. I remember the massive influx of new members on here following SF's production who were involved in the wardrobe discussion. Many of whom stopped posting shortly after the film came out. Then GQ came out with separate articles about the tab collar shirt and the Billy Reid peacoat among other pieces and Bond clothing mania just skyrocketed.

Hi left field I know but I'd like to see Bond in a baseball cap (obviously not flat bill) flex fit curved bill
    perhaps military look.
Perhaps Oakley ,under armour, or a new era 39.As I say left field but it was a big deal when he wore jeans in Q of S.

I've been thinking about this and I have some thoughts for later, but my minds been more on accessories, I'd like to see bond wear an Omega Speedmaster for some scenes, ideally on a leather strap and during his downtime, it's an iconic omega and quite fitting for Bond, in fact it would have suited the final scene in SP quite nicely.
Also I'd love bond to return to persol sunglasses. I have nothing against Tom Ford ( I own 4 pairs) but persol are just superior glasses, they are built better have history and are specialist items. while wearing my old 714's today I couldn't help but compare the better build quality, my tf Henry's have badly aligned arms and the T temple detail is horrific for glasses at this price point.
    20170920_173220.jpg
Not just these either, my Leo's and my wife's camilla's are just as ropey, would bond really wear such sunglasses? Compare to my persol

    DSC_0001.jpg

And my persol 714's which are getting on for 10 years old
    20170920_174358.jpg

    Theres really no comparison.

Interesting, my Henry's feel pretty sturdy and well built. Its my Snowden's that are very flimsy and cheap feeling.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Henry's too, and I havnt suffered with my markos like many seem to have, and Tom Ford sunglasses are superior to a lot of other premium brands, but either persol are so well made they make some TF's seem a bit shoddy or marcolin who make them just don't put in the same quality. Even the materials used don't really compare, TF's aren't polarised, persol are, lenses are plastic as opposed to persols being glass, the frame acetate is just more luxurious feeling on persols. I asked myself, in Spectre bond is a man who wore a pair of glacier glasses to walk a few yards from a plane into a building, would he then choose non polarised sunglasses to wear in the desert? Our man loves the best quality. There is no doubting TF's quality with their clothing and suits, imho he wouldn't pick up some tf sunnies, he'd go straight to the persol stand, buy a better product and save enough money for a Vodka Martini over the price of the TF's :D

Good point, TF clothing can be considered the best of the best so no qualms there. But from what I gathered on this site and from personal experience their sunglasses certainly cannot.

I'd also like to see Bond wear a Speedmaster. It's Omega's one indisputably iconic watch in the current collection (compare to Rolex, who have several). That said, from a marketing perspective, the Bond connection is the best thing the Seamaster line has going for it, so I can't imagine them straying too far from those. The Speedies sell themselves and don't need 007's help.

As an aside, I'll bet the watch Craig was spotted wearing at the hand-in-hand telethon was the new Speedy Tuesday!

From my experience the Tom Ford sunglasses in the films are not great only good. Not on par with the rest of what he offers. However the TF Flynn is the best acetate sunglasses I own. And his private collection n7 is my favorite sunglasses of all time.

Personally I don't like persol I find them heavy and unbalanced.

    Best,
    Stefan

I've heard people mention "persol slip" and when I first bought my 714's I experienced this, but I went back to the shop and he adjusted them to my face and I've never had it since, my other persols (3074-s) are possibly the most comfortable sunglasses I own, I think TF's are hit and miss, my markos have been bullet proof, others have had theirs fall apart, my 108's though felt superior to the markos ( until they got destroyed by my offspring) But at their price point the assembly should be spot on, eg at Otticanet Snowdens are £205, whereas some similar persols (2803) are £115!

I prefer the first one, Bond could wear this with a white or black Sunspel t shirt under, paired up with some smart grey jeans and a pair of black suede Chelsea boots.

Of course you dress it up with a nice white shirt and some wool trousers paired with something like the c and j brecon in black.
