It’s not over yet, just that issue ๐Ÿ˜

Dredger hasn't improved since last time. Also the East German secret police were called Stasis, not "Gepo", and you couldn't get through Checkpoint Charlie as easily as they do. And it's not on Unter den Linden (no "the") either.

  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 9,325MI6 Agent

All your points are correct, of course, but the pulp lover inside of me kind of likes Dredger ๐Ÿ˜ and as each story is self contained it doesn’t leave much room for exposition but that admittedly should be correct as it wouldn’t take up any more room than what has been published.

I suppose that’s the main problem with the Dredger series…it needs to develop the story (and the character) over more issues…there isn’t enough story to make Dredger even a 2D character…seems like a waste…

BUSTER comic ran a spy spoof strip called James Pond from November 1965 to June 1967. The strip was rebooted in 1987 in NIPPER comic, this time Pond was a walking, talking toad secret agent. When NIPPER merged into BUSTER later in 1987 the strip didn’t make the cut and disappeared. James Pond: Underwater Agent was a video game launched in 1990. It seems like you can’t keep a good agent down!

From the 1968 BUSTER BOOK are two examples of the strip. There are shades of Bond, of course, but the second strip could be closely tied to the future OP if you’re in the mood (maybe MGW was a comic fan growing up and this formed in his subconscious ๐Ÿ˜).

And in yet another coincidence - I ordered the Hammer version of that story a few days ago and it arrived yesterday.

    PS

    Herbert Lom in that movie

leads to this joke for those who remembered in "The Pink Panther Strikes Again"

I think I will have to go onto Hammer movies after the Universal horrors have finished over on the Movie Posters thread ๐Ÿ˜

You must have quite a good number of the Hammer movies now, I think Phantom is an underrated version from the studio.

I haven't been counting, but yes, quite a few.

It's a good version, though it has some flaws especially at the end (no spoilers).
