I've never bought a watch purely because bond wears it. If Bond turns up in the next film with say an omega big Blue I wouldn't buy one. As with Bond 44 a lot of my watches I had before bond (aqua terra annual calender, SM300 coax) I bought the Bond aqua terra ( never screen used) because I loved the dial. My first smp was bought due to at the time it was the definitive Omega and was my first Omega purchase ( I had already inherited my grandfather's SM300 which started my Omega love) the limited ed Spectre SM300 I bought because the asking price was very good but being in a bond film helped a lot
All my other watches have no Bond connection and I buy them because they serve a different purpose and are worn on different occasions.

My watch buying dried up after my custom PO project this year and now I am finding it hard to justify that (Black PO 8500 in TI) and a PO LM LE which it now getting zero wrist time. Given my collection though I had though of selling that and buying a 2500 PO 45 on OEM rubber and a SMP 2500 to close out my current Bond collection of watches until the next film (that would then cover the current DC era and a Brosnan too).
Funny thing is I also have a Speedy and vintage SM 300 neither of which are getting much wrist time at present so they may well go on the selling list if things don't change soon.
However I do find I go through phases with my watches each taking it in turn to be in vogue at any time.

I think with regards to wearing to wearing watches we are probably all similar, a new watch gets most wrist time, then as the novelty wears off we swap about a bit. I have watches I only wear for certain activities, on holiday if it's a beach type holiday I tend to wear my old po 2500 which sits on a connery nato, this has now been demoted to my daily work watch and replaced by the new po chronograph I'm not admitting to. So those two are my very casual / swimming / active watches. My bracelet po's are general wear when not at work, vintage SM300 is rarely worn but it's special when I do, AT is worn on formal occasions, as is the deville, standard SM300 coax is smarter general wear, Spectre LM SM300 I've just decided looks good with a black leather jacket but I go in fits and starts wearing that, maybe because I wear a nato all week during the day? I have a planet ocean on a rubber strap and I wear this or the smp after work.
I'm going to buy a Speedmaster next just because I like to look of them and I think my Omega collection really needs one.
That was the reason I bought a Soeedy (felt my collection needed one) and I bought some Gucci NASA straps I wear it on more than the bracelet but it's been a while. That said the PO Ti has been wrist hogging a bit.

I have 3 watches on natos all with spring bars, the omega ones are thicker so put the strap nearer the case, some after market bars are thinner so you get more of a gap between case and strap. The original seamaster navy version had solid bars for the nato, my SM300 Spectre le only came with straight bars, I'm sure how curved bars would work? As surely they would twist with the radius pointing down toward your wrist?

Unless the spring bars is too close to the watch case to allow a thicker nato through?? I'm pretty certain the spring bars that come with a Speedmaster are straight.

Also the consensus on the omega forum is that there is no need for curved unless you fit a leather backed nato which is thicker. Apparently they also allow you to fit a 22mm strap.

My dad's 1991 Breitling Chronomat. He rarely wore it for about a decade now and I managed to get him to service it.
Just like Expat, I stole it today but he's cool with it. If it's not your cup of coffee, there's always tea.
Not a huge fan of chronographs but I love its design, rarely seen these days.
In response to arbogast777 I never had the actual model, but I did put my po 2500 on an oem on the seamaster black rubber strap 98000145, I used this watch a lot and dived in it as well for about 7 years until I swapped out for a nato. It wore well, I had no problems at all. I have heard of broken keepers and buckled breaking through the strap, but I don't wear my watches over tight.

The fabric of the strap gets abraded by the case part (middle inbetween the lugs) where the distance to the case is too narrow with straight bars.
