Sounds good 00-Agent, but what is Blades?

It's the London club where Bond plays bridge with Drax (in MR, the novel) and fences with Graves (in DAD, the martyr).

Have a proper Quantum army numbering in the dozens or hundreds (they're ostensively a security contractor) open fire on a NATO unit to steal the Pakistani warheads they were extracting.

Then you might as well call the movie Thunderball Mark III.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

I thought that as well, although there are only so many Bond plots to go around. Maybe have a plot more similar to From Russia With Love only this time involving the Chinese and their McGuffin?

56

Re: Bond 23 ideas

Why not use the Colonel Sun novel, thought make him a Quantum operative and change the plot as needed.
To me this makes sense as most of the Fleming titles have already been used, and I can not see 007 in New York as a film title, thought I am alright if that story is worked into the screenplay for Bond 23.

57

Re: Bond 23 ideas

What if Quantum is resourceful enough to make its own nuclear weapons instead of stealing them, like SPECTRE?

Re: Bond 23 ideas

why not use the hildebrand rarity and update the story like they did with cr. i know they used bits in fyeo but wat the hell it could still make a good film.
im sure the writers could tie in quantum with it and have bond captured at the end so that in 24 they could use the beginning of tmwtgg where bond returns brainwashed and tries to kill m and this then could be updated so that it turns out bond is not brainwashed and that m is really working for quantum.
i think it would be so good if 24 is adirect sequel to 23 although a few months later so that all dc films are basically two parters.
i know hildebrand rarity is not the most in yer face title but think quiller memerandem which was a hell of agood film and even bourne ultimatium issnt exactly eyecatching titlewise yet still a superb film.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

as Craig said "sub marine bases here we come" which i know he didnt mean literally (or maybe he did?) but im glad in the next one Bond is not out for revenge and M isnt everywhere he is and let Bond enjoy himself more, which he understandably didnt in QOS, but i love the whole gritty reboot idea but i think its time for Bond to have some fun and lighten up a bit.

This next one is definetly going be one-shot. It will be light hearted in the sense that the film is concetrating less on Bond's emotionally development.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

Could they have an action scene on a Dubai building site? Although that could be too derivative of the well received Madagascar foot chase.

What about a big cargo freighter passing through the Panama Canal? It could be a mobile Quantum base of operations for one of their evil schemes and it could end with Bond crashing the ship into the side of one of the Canal's locks.

I had an idea for using the Panama Canal actually. The villian would destroy it and while re-construction was underway, he would bribe officials to use sub-standard equipment and millions of workers would die being exposed to a leathal virus via mosquitoes. Sort of a mirroring when the canal was first constructed.

The thing is though, Panama was used to double as Bolvia in QOS film. They usually never travel to the same place twice in a row.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

Pertaining to the leader of Quantum and what his motivations are, I think he should be this real odd ball. He is completely disconnected with reality and views himself as sort of a God. He thinks the whole world is stupid and everyone in it  is a pawns ready to be taken advantage of. His goal isn't financial motivation since he was born into money and great power. He simply wants to amuse himself by toying with the political structure of the world. So he created Quantum to appeal to the greed of business men and gets the satisfaction of the chaos that ensues.

64

Re: Bond 23 ideas

Quantum could deceive its own operatives and puppets - to copy Alias and the From Russia With Love movie, Bond could cross paths with a female Quantum agent who was fooled into thinking she was recruited by a secret cell of a legitimate intelligence agency. We could also have a lawyer or business executive working in one of Quantum's front corporations who is similar to the Tom Cruise's yuppy from The Firm.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

The next Bond film should be about a bank robbery, amixture of Goldfinger meets The Millennium Dome. And Charlie Brooks should be the villainess.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

I think it needs to have a more classic feel to it.

I thought CR got the balance right, it was fresh and modern and took the franchise in a new direction but at the same time it was somewhat reminiscent of the earlier Bonds like Dr. No.

QoS completely lost this and the end product was almost unrecognisable as Bond.

Basically Id like to see a more parred back film, stylistically safer than QoS, a few more laughs (QoS was devoid of any light-hearted moments and I felt this hurt it) and for the director to keep in mind he's making a thriller. Bond has been re-invented in CR, leave it at that for a while, no need to keep re-inventing every film.

I'd also like to see less of Judi Dench, she'll never be a big enough part of the film to really learn anything important about the character and it just ends up distracting. M is essentially there for exposition and to play as a foil to Bond, leave it at that.

One more thing.....if you have Aston Martins screaming around Lake Como, Daniel Craig running across Italian rooftops, Bond being attacked by Henchman at a performance of Tosca or any other amazing things LET US SEE IT FOR GODS SAKE.....because I sure as hell saw none of this in QoS....so many wasted opportunities:(

Re: Bond 23 ideas

Also (Ive been thinking about this ajb007/wink) Id like to see a bit of a glimpse of Bond in his non agent role.

Id love to see him having a round of golf or playing cards at his local club. Not too much, Bond should have a certain level of mystique, but its nice to be reminded that he is a real person and not some Q branch cyborg killing machine. ajb007/smile

Also he should smoke like a battleship. If I was making it the only time Bond would be without a cigarette in his hands is when he is driving, holding a gun or fighting.....Im sure Sony would love that one. ajb007/lol

Re: Bond 23 ideas

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum but i've been a 007 fan for years. The Spy Who Loved me & The Living Daylights are my personal favourites.

I think that Daniel Craig and Eon have taken the franchise in a new and dynamic direction. It needed to move on as Die Another Day was not a great film. So when Casino Royale came out I was impressed. Daniel Craig has taken the rawness of Bond and plays it superbly. Quantum was a good follow up, a little devoid in parts but remember this is James Bond in the early days he is a blunt instrument, yet to refine himself into the form that we have seen him in for years. Craig is tapping into the Connery vindictive side of Bond and Daltons dark and moody side in playing Bond at this stage of his career in MI6.

As for Bond 23 well I had some ideas for a title, but the one that stands out is 'Firefly' named after Noal Cowards house. Which was situated not far from Ian Flemmings 'Goldeneye' home. He & Coward were great friends.

My idea would involve the Quantun orgnisation and locations in Italy, Austria, London, New York & Africa.

You probably won't believe me when I tell you that I thought about this after seeing Casino Royale in the Cinema, long before QOS was thought about. My idea for an opening seqence was Bond's Aston Martin being pursued through the Italian countryside by bad guys in Italian cars & by a Helicopter with the Aston getting a few battle scares on the way. So I was a little bit freaked out when I saw the opening sequences to Quantum of Solace.

Maybe I should have submitted the script for Quantum myself but titled 'Firefly' to EON a few years ago just after I saw Casino Royale. Oh well.:)

Welcome sabrewolf ajb007/martini

I like your choices for Dalton's and Moore's films, my two personal favourites for those two actors as well.

After Casino Royale I thought it would be a good idea to have the people Mr. White worked for penetrate MI6, especially M's personal security detail, so I was both chuffed to bits and totally bemused when I saw QOS and what Quantum were up to.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

I don't really have "ideas" for the films plot, but my thoughts are thus:

title: PROPERTY OF A LADY
007: DANIEL CRAIG
girl: not fussed; preferably a blonde.... there hasn't been a main female blonde since TLD
villain: not fussed; preferably someone older who exudes power and menace... hasn't happened since MR

As for other characters. M could certainly be killed off, and I liked the idea of the "property" being hers, whatever happens to M, Dench has to exit after Bond23, she's really starting to grate
Felix, well, it's a ho-hum for me. He had to be in CR as he's central to 007 winning the card game, but I thought his role in QOS was immaterial.

For me the film needs to be about 110 minutes long, have a proper pre-title sequence of no more than seven minutes, song by a British artist please, four fist fights, one short chase, one long one, a big YOLT / TSWLM gun battle at the climax, three girls (one of whom is killed), a henchman, a climatic standoff between Bond and the villain, locations could be Madrid, Australia & South Africa

Of course it'll never come true.

Re: Bond 23 ideas

I have around the net that several fans would like to see Quantum run by a group rather than make like SPECTRE and have a central figure controling everything. I think that this is a very fresh idea and as Quantum of Solace showed, the organization seems to be very group centered rather than having a chief to report to.  I would imagine that Mr. White is part of this "inner circle" as he was important enough  for Mitchell to expose himself to MI6 to aid in his escape.

I would personaly like to see Bond take on a bad guy who uses chemical weapons in dirty deeds, from the media they have gotten they are just serious as nuclear weapons in today's world.

As long as Kelly doesn't have to say anything !!!! There's a girl who missed out on silent movies ajb007/lol

I would get a new M. Dame Judy has overstayed her welcome and I would also bring back Moneypenny.

I would also move on from the QoS plot. That film killed it for me. Lets start afresh.
