    I like the cop from AVTAK. He adds comic relief to a dark film.

    Clearly I'm a die hard Connery fan, but I am also an avid fan of the entire Bond movie franchise. For me, no other actor has combined all of the elements I enjoy about Bond's cinema incarnation as well as Sir Sean. Some of the other actors have done pretty well as far as portraying certain traits of the character (Dalton, Craig), others not as well (Moore, Lazenby). So yes, there has been a bit of a letdown for me since Connery retired from the role, but I have still found quite a bit of enjoyment in viewing the subsequent films. The Dalton and Craig films have been particularly satisfying.

    Connery was indeed a very well-rounded 007. Aside from maybe Pierce Brosnan, I can't think of any other actor who balanced the elements the elements so well. Craig and Dalton might be the "deadliest", Moore is certainly the most humorous, but Connery falls somewhere in-between.

    While I enjoy Daniel Craig as James Bond, and respect what Timothy Dalton brought to his own performance, I can't say I enjoy either of their respective films, with the only exception being Casino Royale (an easy contender for best Bond film ever made).

    I certainly understand that the more serious Bond films of Dalton and Craig are not for everyone. But we definitely agree on this - Connery is "a very well-rounded" Bond and Casino Royale is one of the best films in the series. -{

    I detest two very wildly popular Bond films - 1964's "GOLDFINGER" and 2012's "SKYFALL".

    And I did NOT miss Sean Connery in "ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE".

    Admittedly I love Goldfinger, but Skyfall bothers me the more that I think about it; it's a technically impressive empty shell of a Bond film.

    OHMSS is fantastic, though. -{

    Agreed. And Connery was looking just a wee bit too old for that particular story right about then... well, certainly a wee bit too old for Diana at any rate.

    Older, perhaps, but certainly more tired with the role; he spends most of You Only Live Twice looking like he's just woken up from a nap. :p

    You've seen one, you've seen them all. After FRWL, them became formulaic
    and went down hill. As for the actors.....
    Connery, was too working class
    Lazenby, was far too inexperienced
    Moore, wasn't threatening enough
    Dalton, wasn't able to throw a convincing punch
    Brosnan, was too thin
    Craig, is too serious.

    There I think that covers everything. :)) :p :007) summing up some of the opinions
    So far !

    After the Miami scene, I think Goldfinger becomes really boring and dull save a select few scenes and is one of my least watched Bond films.

    The James Bond films petered out in 1989....in Sanchez's palace with diamond encrusted Iguanas

    Then we had the dark times

    Nonsense with people jumping out of planes, struggling with nuclear submarines then the sheer horror of the cgi tsunami

    In Charles II's day it was the interegulum

    Then Bond came back. A new slicker faster Bond. Seen in Madagascar at a cobra fight. He came back in 2006. There were have spirited Bond adventures up to present day :))

    I agree wholeheartedly. The dark ages indeed.

    Both movies have very boring 2nd halfes imo but LTK has the benefit of some better cinematography and the prettier girls.
