I think Trump and Christie won this last Rep debate.
Rubio I think came off rather one-note.
I don't think Carson will last long, he's clearly a weak public speaker.
Funny how Jefferson wasn't good at public speaking and he got to be the 3rd POTUS. Times do change, and now it's hard to get the job if you lack that skill.

I got the sense that you and Loeffelholz think socialism is dependent on ignorance or false history to succeed.
On the contrary, I think a working socialistic democracy requires an educated populace. Which is why they work so hard to dumb us down in my country. Divide the populace & conquer. Educate the populace and they unite in their common interests (the rich mostly hate that..).
Thing is, there's a kind of limit how rich you can be in a world that's fair; you can REALLY clean up when anything goes though (de & non-reulation).
Trump and Cruz are keep living down to their abyssmal standards. Now they suppport waterboarding - Trump wants something "a hell of a lot worse".
It's a sad day for for American democracy when candidates campaign on a promise to allow torture. I like to quote Senator Cain, hopefully the only American politician who has been tortured. When others defended torture because the victims were just terrorists, he replied: "It's not about who they are - it's about who WE are!"
Yes, I don't agree with Trump's views on immigration, torture, and (generally) foreign policy.
However, I do agree with him on free trade, at least in his opposition to it.
