The police is exactly the same. That side of interviews was a piece of cake. Such nonsense. 8-)

Oh, and another pet hate of mine ... E-learning. No actually training these days.

NP ... I shall pass on your suggestion to my hubby. Maybe he can fit it around the naked butlering job he just secured. :))

Most of the time it just meant clicking on 'next page' :))

A complete waste of time and some of ours were serious updates to law and procedure. If you didn't understand something, tough, just keep clicking till it accepts an answer. Actually quite dangerous.

The LGBT community in my home town held their annual parade last Saturday, and it was a fun
Day for everyone. Except later that night when a group of Neanderthals beat up a couple of the
    Organisation committee.
Talking to a friend of mine ( I've only know him for a couple of months ) who is a gay bloke.
I expressed my thought that, all that was a thing of the past and most people were more accepting
Of all sorts of lifestyles, beliefs etc.
He said the hatred was still there only hidden, he had been attacked a couple of times and his
Home ( where he lives with his partner) had had its windows smashed three times ! Infact only
In city's was there any real sense of acceptance.
I guess, I'm very naïve as I really did think those days were over. It's sad to think people can't simply
Let others live their lives in peace and not in fear. X-(
Happily the decent members of the local community have been sending well wishes, flowers and
    Chocolates to the two guys. -{

As a protest against Facebook's arbitary censorship of pictures, Norwegian PM Erna solberg and several other members of the government posted the iconic photo of the little girl in Vietnam running away after a napalm attack today - and they were censored! :o
I don't know if it's a computer or a clueless human being who is censoring works of art and pictures showing our history, and quite frankly I don't know what would be worst ....

Facebook has since reversed it's decision on censoring iconic images. The whole point
Of these images are to shock ! and raise an emotional response in the viewer.

I've never been on Facebook, in fact this and one other forum are really my only social media, I have had experience of Facebook being very destructive.
I'm currently incensed by boy racers and my local police force. Quite near me is a new bypass that every night said boy racers use as a racetrack, I can sometimes hear their illegally modded cars screaming through the gears for ages hitting high speeds and pulling handbrake turns round the roundabouts. They can do this as our local police station shuts on a night.
While on holiday a man in his early forties was killed by a car while walking his dog by a modded hot hatch driven by a 19 year old with 3 other young men as passengers. The man leaves behind 2 children and a wife, his dog was also killed! Its very sad and highly preventable as all these boy racers meet everynight in a local macdonalds car park, I'd like to know if they've all notified their insurance companies about the Mods on their cars? I'd guess not the police should be checking this, but they are more happy setting up speed traps on the same bypass every morning to catch commuters going 5mph too fast!!! X-( I am very seriously considering heading down to macdonalds one evening and confiscating their car keys! I'd love one of the little pricks to have a go as I'd quite happily partake in some rough justice.

I'm guessing this is simply a sign of the times but my wife has just been Informed of the
Suicide of the son of one of her friends. The lad was only 14 ! Sad to think so many
Very young people feel so desperate/isolated.

It seems to be becoming indicative of these times. Whether it's the pressure of our lifestyles these days or the oppression of conformity? Whatever compels these young people to take their own lives it's very tragic.

Thinking of changing my phone/broadband supplier from BT to sky and tried to have an
Online chat with bt about it. To see if they would match the new price etc. Kept waiting for
About 20 minutes online, only to be told ( after seeing my request) that that department was
Closed and could I try again today ! ..... Why bother offering a service which is unavailable. X-(

I remember having a discussion with a member ( on another place ) who protested that Syria
Was an open democratic country with many different political parties. I pointed out that the
Assad family has held power for over 40 years ! And many opposition politicians had either
Disappeared or been killed. He still maintained that they had just had " open and fair " elections !
It was at that point I gave up. 8-)

Syria actually did quite well for a dictatorship for a lot of people most the time, it's unpopular to speak the truth sometimes, but a lot of nations of different cultures to our own need to be controlled by an entity, and democracy simply can't ever work. It's not what they understand or what their cultures will allow. To impose our own ways is elitist and as it's being proved by every innocent lost.

What about if half the population of this country is being slaughtered by the regime in charge ? Or another country/countries is/are attacking it ? Do we sit idly by and watch the body count ? :#

No, like all civilised countries we check first to see if they have oil or other natural resources that we can plunder when "peace" arrives. Britain is no longer the world's policeman. Britain doesn't have the resources to adequately defend itself, never mind intervene in yet another country. The US should be doing much more than it is but this time its vacillating with a lame-duck president while people go on dying every single day. It's shameful.

Well so far our involvement in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria have all be huge successes. {[]
We've really made a difference, no more ISIS to worry about, "Mission accomplished" as a
    President once said.
I can't wait until we take on N.Korea, or China both "slaughter" any opposition, so line up
All the young men and women of Britain, being sent off to fight once again , for the big
Corporations , oil companies and fickle Politicians.
I just think so far after every " change" things have actually got worse for the people, even
    More killings and worse leadership.

Problem being and let's focus on Muslim cultured countries here is we obviously all agree a Muslim should be in charge but which kind? As within these countries are tribal, cultural, belief, moderate, extreme etc etc, even geographical differences. So in Iraq Shia Muslims, kurdish and sunni would all seek the eradication of the other groups/ sects and persecution runs supreme, along come the western forces and arm the downtrodden kurds and Shia who have been persecuted by saddams sunni, saddam gets overthrown chaos ensues, sunni now get persecuted isis rises and the weapons we gave are used against us. Unfortunately it's uncomfortable to come to terms with the fact all humans are not the same.

And you think ISIS weren't coming anyway ?

And we do too much business with China to get involved, that and the fact they are a much bigger nation than us.

I suppose you could just sit at home and wait for their knock on your door..?...obviously don't expect help from other nations...

Our involvement still boils down to ignorance and a belief our western way is best for all. Gaddafi, hussein and assad all kept a lid on isis something we can't do. An ex officer friend of mine who was heavily involved over there put it like this, " we've rid the zoo of the cruel whip cracking keepers and now the most dangerous animals are free to roam and attack anyone they like "
