We've hit gold gentleman (and ladies)!

My contact at Tom Ford has come through and can confirm an MTO for the ties from skyfall! :007)

Details:

Price: euro 145.00 each

Ties:

Istanbul tie
Three-tone blue tie
Blue tie

We're looking at a roughly 2 month wait as it's an mto. Payment required in advance.

We've done it!

    List is updated.

Guys, whoever bought the three tone tie when it was up on ebay, can someone pm the model #? I want to make sure it lines up with the code I sent TF.

    Just spoke with TF Milan.

    1. The factory has confirmed it can make the ties and will need payment before beginning production. There is the possibility of having them before Christmas. They are sending me an invoice/order form.

    2. TF will deduct VAT. But there will likely be a customs hit when they arrive in North America. I am sending them payment next Thursday.

    3. I have sent them 2 pics of each tie to ensure the correct ones are made, as well as the product code for the London tri-colour tie.

    4. I'm not responsible for any mistakes they might make (i.e. no refunds gents - we sink or swim together).

    5. You can send me payment via paypal as soon as I receive the order form from TF. We can handle shipping costs once the ties are received.

That said, I'm not charging any proxy fees, just the true cost of the ties + shipping.

I'm a huge Bond fan and want to reciprocate for all the great knowledge and helpfulness on the forum (let's pay it forward!).

Let's all make sure that we make prompt payment to othertravel as soon as he asks for the money, partly so that we can have the ties as quickly as possible, and partly so that othertravel doesn't have to waste his time chasing people. That's the least we can do for him as thanks for his efforts!

I'm assuming standard width (3.5' to 3.75'). Not too worried about that since narrowing it is easy.

I would only be interested if they were skyfall screen accurate skyfall ties like the ones I had made.
  • welshboy78welshboy78 Posts: 10,294MI6 Agent
Surely screen accurate is the way to go as per DBS mentioned specs!

    Let's poll the group here:

    Narrow width, or standard width?

And I thought it was 3'? The pic of the monotone blue london tie doesn't show it to be narrow. Looks standard width.

Just my 2c but whats the point in making skyfall ties if they are not skyfall accurate?
  • The Domino EffectThe Domino Effect Posts: 3,631MI6 Agent
    I'd like the narrower one....2.75"
  • cyclones122cyclones122 Posts: 192MI6 Agent
I'd vote screen accurate, no question.

    SA narrow width.

Regardless of screen accuracy a slim tie looks better than a "bib" in my opinion.

I would say standard. Skinny ties are fashionable and wont be instyle a few years from now. Plus if what DBS says holds, I dont see 0.25" making that much of a difference.

EDIT: nevermind, seems everyone wants em screen accurate. So thats my vote as well
